Fantastic new rooms. Very detailed. Update: so we originally did Gold Rush on mine and my wife's anniversary when they opened the Kansas City location. And for my birthday we decided to run the gauntlet to finish all 5 rooms. We escaped them all, some closer to failing but we don't have to talk about it. The staff has been the best escape room staff we've ever had the pleasure of working with. I can't remember their names (I'm bad with names) but absolutely professional, personable, and just generally amazing people. We have never had this much fun playing in escape rooms. We're planning on trying out some other locations on our travels. But all and all go play these games, you will have the best time.

Do you think you can escape the challenging room? Grab some of your best pals to enter into a challenging and fun escape room at Escape Games on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. Going to the Escape Game is a great spot to go for a birthday or celebration, outing with friends and family, and even team bonding for groups, organizations, and businesses. We had an absolute blast breaking out of the room before the time ran out. Do you think you can find all of the clues in order to unlock the doors before time runs up? Check out the Escapes Games in Kansas City asap!

Yes! This is a great Overland Park activity. The location is an interesting strip small on Overland Park. The game we played was perfect for our family, hard enough to make us think but was accessible to all of us. The story we did was well planed. How they give clues is fun and integrated into the story. I won’t give too much away, but I liked how there were a lot of fun integrated items. If you are looking for something to do, I recommend this place. We did a mid level difficulty, but I’m sure we will try a little harder one.

We came, we solved, we sang under our breath. Three rooms. Three themes. One unstoppable crew. Here's how our journey went down:

🚢 Room 1: The Depths Right from the start, we all lived in a yellow submarine—but this one had less Beatles and more bubbling doom. The decor plunged us deep beneath the surface, and the sci-fi twist had us diving into dark secrets and suspicious labs. Did we release the kraken? Well... maybe. Maybe not. But let’s just say the situation tentacled quickly.

From periscope puzzles to waterlogged wonders, every piece felt like it was part of a bigger story. Our game master Edith kept things smooth sailing, guiding us with the grace of a seasoned captain. Bonus points for the glowing gauges and submarine soundscapes that had us humming, “And our friends are all aboard…”

🧂 Room 2: Special Ops: Mysterious Market Mayhem If you wanna be our game master, you gotta get with our team—and Edith spiced things up in this Middle Eastern marvel. What started in a quaint market stall escalated faster than a Spice Girls reunion tour. Before we knew it, we were neck-deep in international espionage and looking for a bomb with tech cooler than anything on MI6’s annual wishlist.

The puzzles were a perfect blend of traditional locks and touchscreen wizardry, and yes—we really really really wanna zig-a-zig-ah when we defused that final moment. Spice Level: Ghost Pepper. Immersion Level: Off the charts.

🔒 Room 3: Prison Break We might’ve started off locked up, but by the end, we finally made the Warden our friend. Teamwork was non-negotiable, the puzzles were layered and inventive, and let’s just say—we were all very careful not to drop the soap... or were we. It was gritty, clever, and exactly the kind of “break” we were looking for.

Final Verdict: The Escape Game delivered three unforgettable adventures, each with its own flair, flavor, and soundtrack (at least in our heads). Whether you’re deep-sea diving, spy-hopping, or jail-breaking—just bring your brain, your banter, and your best playlist. And if you get Edith (or Collin) as your game master, tell them the Spice Crew sends their love.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Would...

I’ve done escape rooms before but this by far exceeds any experience I’ve encountered prior to this one. I’ve been recommending The Escape Game left and right to almost everyone that I talked to. We were celebrating my cousin’s birthday and decided to do an escape room (in hind sight we weren’t as excited due to previous experiences) but after stepping in our first one (Gold Rush) we had an absolutely blast! Edith was our game guide for this one and she was incredible! As a matter of fact, we had so much fun we decided to do ANOTHER ONE! The next one we had was special ops and Kristen and Ganijah was our game guide for these and Kristen was so amazing and personable. She said that Ganijah was training with her but guess who we got when we queued in for a THIRD game (Prison Break) that day?! GANIJAH! It was honestly the perfect ending to our escape room day. She was so kind and sweet and just wonderful all around! I wish I had caught the names of the two team members that checked us in. They were both extremely nice and great to converse with. I didn’t meet everyone who signed the first birthday card but we are extremely thankful you took the time to sign it! Additionally, the escape rooms were by far the best I’ve ever done. The puzzles were super creative, the atmosphere was extremely immersive and stunning. The technology in the rooms was FANTASTIC! The overall construction was absolutely immaculate. The actors in the videos were also great. I’ve seen some pretty cringey escape room safety and story videos but these were very well done. I’ve never had the desire to requeue for additional escape room games… until this one. I didn’t pick up any merchandise but the astronaut mug is so cute and I’ll probably end up snagging one the next...

The people who work here are the absolute best!!! 🎉 We interacted with three employees and they were all stellar! Very welcoming and helpful. Shout out to the very wonderful V and Mason! And the employee who's name escapes me but helped with a lot of family photos! 😄

Everything here is very clean and well organized! The rooms were like movie sets! We did Gold Rush. My family of five had a blast and we are two adults, one 13 year old, one 11 and one who is just six. My youngest completely loved this adventure! Not scary at all! There is a pop sound when you solve one puzzle, so if you have littles that are sensitive to loud sounds, you might want to lead with a light warning before hand! But it is truly truly family friendly!

The game itself was so entertaining! Shout out to the actor who played our Uncle because he was fabulous. ☺️

I also love that they have puzzles in the bathrooms! Another thing I really appreciate is that they sent a congratulations email to us afterwards and it tells you the time you escaped which is very helpful. So above and beyond! Another thing I thought was spectacular is the ability for us to take pictures and videos at any time!! We have gone to other escape rooms and this definitely isn't the case!

I cannot stress this enough: the people are so SO friendly and helpful that you immediately feel at ease and welcome. The Gold Rush is perfect for families (kids of all ages), I have no complaints at all! This place is next level with their intricate sets and creative and fun puzzles!! This is a place where people love to work and you can feel it. Everyone who works there should get a gold star! ✨Definitely book a room here for...
