This particular location does not take food safety seriously. I saw a person wear the same pair of gloves to carry food outside, cashier duties and bag food. Not once in about 15 minutes did I see him change gloves. While cross contaminating the entire restaurant. The older and very rude lady running the other cash register had a slight hack coughing roughly here and there. She had an apron and a very large and dirty carhart like jacket on. That was fine for running the register (I guess for y’all standards at this location) however she would turn around to assist on the line. There’s a reason for a uniform and why an oversized coat like that shouldn’t be worn while working in a restaurant.
I couldn’t help but watch her jacket rub all over the tops of dine in orders. She kept reaching over the place with no gloves and this dirty jacket adding all kinds of seasonings. The young lady who needed no one’s help running that line tried several times to keep her station clear. The older lady became argumentative and stubbornly returned to the her station at the cash register. However, 5 or so mins later these other two highly contaminated individuals just kept “being helpful”
First and foremost, at the very least teach everyone to change gloves; BARE minimum if you step outside. Basically glove use here is in reverse and the only protection from germs are the employees hands.
Second use some hand sanitizer AT MINIMUM if you just finished using the cash register. The state requires you to wash your hands before continuing food service after such duties
I paid extra attention at EVERY SINGLE outgoing order to ensure my order was only handled by the one employee in front of house not cross...
Read moreWelcome to the worst Culver’s in the Midwest. The State Line Culver’s is an embarrassment to the chain’s reputation, why they let these franchisees drag them down is a mystery. I’ve been to this location exactly three times and in each instance they got my order wrong, the last time was the most egregious. Since the first two times may have been to complicated for them I tried to simplify it…a double Butterburger, with cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato and ketchup mayonnaise. An order of fries no drink…..what I get is a double with who knows what kind of cheese. No bacon whatsoever, no ketchup or mayo. Having learned my lesson I checked the order before driving off, I had to drive back around and get in line again. I tried to be as polite as possible under the situation. I showed the gentleman at the window my receipt and told him it was wrong. I asked him to have them remake the whole order since I knew the fries were bound to be getting cold. They brought the supposedly remade order, I checked the burger, it now had two tiny strips of bacon and STILL no ketchup or mayo !! And the fries were obviously the same ones they gave me previously but missing about half of them. I’m a senior and decided it just wasn’t worth the aggravation, so I took the meal home and warmed it in the microwave….and you probably know how that suck. The irony of all this is I did a negative survey on Culver’s home page and someone supposedly Culver’s QC person contacted me via email offering apologies and coupons. All talk. I’ve never had any problems at other Culver’s, but if you can avoid this...
Read moreDriving between Dr. appointments in a different section of town, we were delighted to see the familiar Culver's logo. There was only one car in line and as we hadn't eaten that morning, our mouths started watering for their Butterfly Jumbo Shrimp and the fully loaded Reuben. Their Butter burgers are so good, as Culver's prepares food items as they are ordered, ensuring freshness! Although we were in a bit of a hurry, it was around lunch time so the shrimp shouldn't take too long to fry and the Reuben just needed assembling with a quick grill. Fifteen minutes later, only two more cars behind us, finally the server brings our food out to curbside. We had the tip ready and pulled off as soon as she passed us the sack. Our next stop was just down the road so we had a few minutes to enjoy our food. We opened the sack only to be so disappointed with the quality of both items! Check out the pictures. The Reuben was almost burnt on both sides of the bread, and opening it up, the corned beef appeared to be the ends, just bits & pieces which contained so much of the fat. The shrimp looked okay, but it was cold like it had sat for a while and chewy once you got through the batter. We didn’t have time to return to the Culver’s right then, but attempted to call them only to get a busy signal. We have eaten at several Culvers in multiple states & fortunately had wonderful food experiences so we will continue to the franchise. Just not at the MO/KAN State...
