First Watch — Restaurant in Kansas City

I've been to the First Watch in Liberty and it was amazing. This was my first time visiting this location and it was worse than perkins. Firstly the glass water jugs that they serve the water in had nasty stuff in them like they weren't cleaned thoroughly. It was really bugging me seeing all the filth inside so I got my finger and confirmed it was some nasty slimy stuff that looked like boogers. Secondly our food was burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. From the potatoes to the pancakes it seems not much love and care was put into the food made this morning. Thirdly I got this breakfast sandwich and they didn't even include all the toppings that were supposed to come on it and the arugula was supposed to be lemon dressed and didn't have anything on it. There was a whole bunch of burnt black pieces in my potatoes that I had to pick out too. Pretty upset and sad not gonna lie considering the bill was more than $50 for overpriced breakfast food that wasn't even stirred or flipped completely burned on one side and undercooked on the other side. Placed a large online order on 12/29/2024. The system online could not complete the order but I was charged 3 separate times. I called the store and spoke with a manager who stated the online system had crashed and they didn’t receive my order. I told her that I had been charged 3x and was missing 300$ from my bank account now. She replied with “yeah sorry, the system is down and there’s nothing I can do, a lot of other customers are having the same issue”. She did not try to help at all and just asked if I wanted to place the order over the phone instead. No offer of reduced price or complementary items for my major inconvenience. She stated it should just be “pending charges” but tell that to the money gone from my account. It has been 3 days and I am still missing 300$ from my bank account and called up again to the store. Again, they tried to convince me it was just a pending charge, even though I can see clear as day, the money was withdrawn from my account. Forwarded me to corporate, and had to leave a voicemail for a refund and was told it could take 2 more days for a response. Absolutely terrible customer service....

Special day out celebrating my birthday with family and decide to try this new location as we've always traveled to Liberty because the food/service/environment is that good. Glad to see this area being developed, especially with a new First Watch! Being packed we were seated within 30 minutes. We ordered what we always do. My wife likes The Works, no tomato/onion and the egg over easy on top. The hostess says "it would be scrambled in." Well, not exactly what was asked for, but! Upon receiving the order it appears her request to hold tomatoes/onions went in one ear and out the other. Overall the food/environment was good, but service definitely needs attention. Upon leaving we spoke with the manager who apologized and states that staff is still learning what I consider to be variations off the menu. He continued to give us his business card and requested we ask for him the next time we dine. Less than 2 miles from home will...
