The very first time that I have ever heard of and eaten from Whataburger was when me and my family went on a road trip to Texas to visit friends and family, and this was when I was about 7 years of age. When I usually walk inside the Whataburger restaurants nowadays in the Kansas City metropolitan area, I usually see lunch counter-style stools that people sit on at bars or diners. I saw murals on the wall with pictures too, and the pictures of the murals depend on which Whataburger location a customer visit. The murals inside the Whataburger restaurants are usually meant to describe the city area that a Whataburger restaurant is located in, and also describe the history of how the Whataburger restaurant chain first started. There was also a football jersey with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes name on it because he owns the Tiffany Springs location for Whataburger along with other locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
On August 8, 1950, an adventurous and determined entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson opened up the world’s first Whataburger in the city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson had a simple goal which was to serve a burger so big it took two hands to hold and so good that after one bite customers would say, “What a burger!” Harmon Dobson succeeded on both counts and turned that one little burger stand into a legend loved throughout Texas and the entire Southern region of the United States of America. Besides being a chain of fast food restaurants, the hamburger franchise is also considered place that feels like home to more than 50,000 employees, called Family Members, and millions of customers. It’s a brand built on pride, care and love. It’s a place people count on in their communities. It’s a place where goodness lives. So now with more than 900 Whataburger restaurants in 14 states in the United States of America, road-trippers and hometown folks alike continue gathering under the big orange-and-white roofs for fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly service.
In the present nowadays, each and every Whataburger is made to order, right when it’s ordered. And they’re still made with 100% pure, beef that is never frozen at all, and then served on a big toasted 5-inch bun with all the extra ingredients and toppings that are meant to satisfy any customer’s taste buds when the visit any Whataburger location. The extra toppings that customers can get on their Whataburger or other food order include grilled jalapeño pepper slices, extra strips of bacon, three slices of cheese, avocado slices, and even extra pickles. Whataburger also has a variety of piping sauces for customers to try with their orders of food. Whataburger’s following has grown exponentially in its more than 70-year history, thanks to a wide variety of features at Whataburger, including its famous burgers and growing list of menu items, its iconic orange-and-white-striped interiors and exteriors of the restaurants, and also the famous Fancy Ketchup that can come in a few different flavors and styles. The customer’s Whataburger will be made just the way that they order it or the way that they like their Whataburger to be for the entire 24 hours during the day, for the entire 7 days during the week.
Besides Whataburgers, the menu at Whataburger restaurants also feature breakfast dishes, chicken sandwiches (also known as “Whatachick’n’ Sandwiches), salads, side dishes, milkshakes & malts, other desserts, all-time favorites that most customers order, and also limited-time and seasonal specials as well. The last time I went to Whataburger, I ordered the Jalapeño and Cheese Whataburger with a side of French fries. My family and I also shared some fried onion rings as well. Whataburger has a good quality delicious foods and also excellent service because the franchise of fast-food restaurants always keeps its promises when serving food to customers, and I would strongly recommend that customers eat at Whataburger because of its unique concepts and fresh...

My wife can not seem to make a food decision EVER and I saw the Whataburger sign made the suggestion to her based on the great experiences we had previously at 2 other locations and she finally accepts my suggestion just as I missed the exit, so let’s just say I’m getting HANGRY at this point. Next exit turn left back on the same highway going south now take the exit and this place seems like it’s 15 minutes off the highway but alas we arrive and we’ve never tried their breakfast so I pull up and we are greeted by the most pleasant person so I ask for a recommendation, something I can eat one handed and Osha is so patient and informative going over her recommendations and explaining the options and she is so funny that I totally forgot how anxious and irritated I was just minutes earlier. When we pulled up Osha was not impressed with the food in the bag and said she was sorry but the food in the bag wasn’t good enough for us could we please pull forward. I was so hungry I would have likely eaten anything at that point but I was more than satisfied because our drinks were up-sized for no extra charge and some of the food was fine to eat (hash browns were over cooked I think it was) when she came out with the food she could tell by the luggage that we were traveling and when I told her I was taking my wife to Cancun for our anniversary she told my wife that I was a good husband and we all had a good laugh before Osha prayed for a safe and happy vacation. Thank you Osha for making our vacation special we made it home safe tonight.
If you’re not thanking the people who touch your lives you should be!! Some of places that pass the card reader out the window and it asks for a tip I find myself saying why does this person deserve a tip? Well people like Osha deserve so much more than I could offer her that morning and I look forward to seeing her again in the future. Thanks again Osha and...
Read moreI sent this review to corporate and haven't heard from them as of 6/11. Our first time eating at a Whataburger. 1:44 pm. The girl came over the speaker asking what we wanted. We asked her to give us a minute so we could look at the menu. Not a minute later, we ordered a number 6. The girl loudly said "Name!" so my husband said the name of the burger. Again she said (louder) "NAME!" This went back and forth two more times because we didn't understand she wanted OUR name for the order. All she said was "NAME!" We had never been there! Finally very rudely, she said "I need YOUR name for the order!" I said we didn't know as we'd never been there before. By then I'd looked at the menu longer and decided on a patty melt instead of a number 6 so she changed it, took our money and told us to go to the next window. The young man at the food window doesn't say hello, or goodbye. He seemed very confused and unsure of himself. The cook actually came out and verified our food order, handed the bag to the kid at the window and disappeared. My second complaint is the fries. They were barely warm and very tough to chew. Not one fry was over an inch or so long, like it was the leftovers in the tray. They were old and cold. I'm serious, they were so tough and chewy. I am sending a photo of the fries. I threw them away. There was only one car in line besides ours so we were surprised at how long it took to get our food, and then for the fries to be cold (they had made the girl ahead of us pull up and wait. Not sure what took them so long with 2 customers). The only good news, is that the patty melt was awesome. The employees here need training. Not everyone in Missouri has been to a Whataburger. I won't go back to that one, but I liked the patty melt enough that I'll stop at...
