I reside in the Coves North neighborhood, and when I first learned that Fresh Donuts would be opening nearby, I was delighted that a donut shop was closer to our home. My family and I always enjoy supporting local businesses in our area, so we decided to give Fresh Donuts a try. Normally, we prefer ordering from Ray’s Donuts located on Vivion Road near Gladstone, but having a new donut shop so close to our house was an exciting surprise. Upon our first visit to the donut shop, we noticed it had a lovely little café atmosphere perfect for enjoying donuts with coffee.
In comparison to Ray’s Donuts, Fresh Donuts offers a similar variety of donuts and pastries as well. To be specific, there is a wide selection of donuts, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos, along with various beverage options available for customers who visit this shop. During my last trip to Fresh Donuts (in October 2020), I ordered five distinct baked goods including an apple fritter, a blueberry cake donut, a chocolate iced donut topped with chopped peanuts, a double chocolate cake donut, and even a cronut hole pastry. We took these donuts to go, and my mother relished the blueberry cake donuts because she adores them. If I had to choose my favorite baked good from Fresh Donuts, it would undoubtedly be the apple fritters due to their syrupy and chewy apple flavor. I enjoyed the blueberry cake and double chocolate cake donuts as well. The two other donuts I ordered were equally delicious, just like any other donut shop.
I would also like to share my aspirations for Fresh Donuts to achieve to enhance their business growth and ensure future success. To begin with, I strongly encourage them to maintain their outstanding service for my neighborhood and surrounding residential areas. If Fresh Donuts is considering expanding its space, I would suggest they take over the area where the UPS store previously was next door. As the donut shop is owned by Korean-American individuals, there may be an opportunity for them to diversify their offerings beyond just pastries. If that were to happen, I would recommend that Fresh Donuts start providing Asian or Korean items such as Boba Tea, Korean-style pastries and corn dogs, and even slushes and smoothies.
Once again, I was thrilled to see Fresh Donuts open near my neighborhood (Coves North) and to be able to support a new "local business" close to my home. I've also considered trying one of Fresh Donuts' breakfast burritos since they are more affordable than those at other establishments. The donut shop also offers coffee for patrons to dip their donuts into and/or enjoy with a wholesome breakfast. I highly recommend that Fresh Donuts continue its excellent service in the future and perhaps even expand its space for...
Read moreI can see that there's a reason why this donut shop gets almost consistently five star reviews. I stopped in to get a donut snack in the afternoon. They surprisingly still had a pretty good selection of your basic donuts. They had glazed and chocolate frosted and what appeared to be some filled donuts with chocolate frosting. By the way, this place almost always has a line every time I drive by. So you know it's not terrible if it draws a crowd. I'm a donut connoisseur so it takes a lot to impress me. Although the offerings were slim this is to be expected in the afternoon. I was trying to decide between a chocolate frosted and a chocolate filled. When I asked about the filled donuts I found out that you can get your choice of filling, nice! They have the four different types of filling located behind the counter. You can choose between vanilla cream-filled, raspberry filling, white cream filling, and I believe there was a chocolate filling as well. I chose the white cream filling and it was pretty darn good. I'm not sure if it's homemade but it's possible that it was. The feeling was adequate and a good ratio of filling to donut. The employee that was working was sweet enough to add a glazed donut to my order. This is nice and I haven't gotten donuts here before and I wanted to see what they were really like. To me the glazed donut quality is an indication of how good a donut shop actually is. Overall I would consider this an above average donut shop. I would recommend going here and expecting a good selection even if...
Read moreI expected very highly of this place, as my buddy has been talking it up for a while, and maybe that’s the reason I was so disappointed. My expectations were set too high.
I came completely out of my way, through nasty construction on 152 to come here. I showed up at 5, which they advertise as their opening time. The door was locked, but the open sign was on and employees playing on their phones behind the counter.
At 5:10, I convinced myself maybe I didn’t pull hard enough on the door and tried to open it again. Still locked.
At 5:20 I started debating just driving down to Dunkin’ to get my family breakfast, but instead decided to call the store and confirm their open time was 5. They confirmed, then came to unlock the door when I told them I had been waiting since 5 to give them my business.
No apology was given for the door being locked.
Donuts looked fresh and the place smelled nice.
I was astounded to find out they charge $32/dozen for their donuts. The donuts were decent, but not $32 per dozen decent.
I may try this place again in the future, but I will not go out of my way. Bad first experience, but seeing the reviews they have, I seem to be in...
