If you value your time, dignity, or taste buds, stay as far away from Big Biscuit as humanly possible. This place used to have people who actually cared — servers who smiled, remembered regulars, and made the food worth the drive. Those people are gone. Replaced by a parade of incompetent, lazy servers who treat guests like an inconvenience and act like working here is a favor we should be grateful for.
Something’s rotten at the top, and it’s not just the food. Management is a joke — incompetent, defensive, and alarmingly proud of their chaos. The manager who runs the floor looks and acts like the exact opposite of a leader: walks around smelling like they haven’t learned what soap is, barking orders they don’t follow through on, and playing favorites while good employees are shown the door. It’s embarrassing to sit there and watch someone so clearly out of their depth try to run a business.
Let me be blunt: whoever made the decision to fire decent staff and keep people who can’t do the job should be ashamed. You can see the rot in every corner — dirty booths, half-cleaned tables, fries that look like they gave up on life, and a staff so checked-out they wouldn’t notice if the place caught fire. The manager’s “leadership” looks an awful lot like playing king while the kingdom burns.
If you want to humble management: stop giving them your money. Write them the kind of honest review that wakes up corporate and forces a real look in the mirror. Tell them they lost the soul of the restaurant, that their hiring choices are garbage, and that keeping people who don’t care has destroyed what this place used to be. Call out the favoritism, the negligence, the filthy standards — and demand accountability. Maybe then someone will realize running a restaurant means more than strutting around and pointing fingers.
Big Biscuit doesn’t deserve another dime until they clean house, stop punishing the good employees, and replace the lazy, disrespectful staff — starting with the manager who seems allergic to competence and basic hygiene. This isn’t tough love — it’s a warning: get your act together or get out...
Read moreDuring our meal, me and my mother were seated around noon. We were made aware by our server, Trinitee, that the staff would be having a quick meeting. What we didn’t expect was the manager (or whatever he is), a grown man, to be berating his staff. I’m not sure if he thought we couldn’t hear him from where we were seated, but as we were eating, we heard phrases being screamed such as “I don’t usually mean to be an asshole…” and “I just want us to grow as a team.”
This experience was odd, considering most of the staff are younger women, and a team leader should never scream at his staff to where customers can hear. I’m not going to pretend I know the entire context, but the energy in the building had clearly shifted after that and it made me feel very uncomfortable FOR the rest of the staff, as some of them looked like they were on the verge of tears or just very upset. It was even more odd to see him scream at his staff, considering we had Trinitee. She was so lovely and attentive! Not only did she make sure to check up on us periodically, but she’s such a great person to have a genuine conversation with! She, along with the rest of the staff, do not deserve to be screamed at on shift where customers can clearly hear while trying to enjoy their meal. I would like to continue giving my money and business here, but will refuse if that behavior exhibited by the management is not fixed. It’s inexcusable and quite frankly a power trip if we are being honest. Respect your employees, because without them, your store location...
Read moreNormally we love the Big Biscuit but our visit Saturday, August 26 at noon to the Barry Rd location was subpar, to put it kindly.
First, the restaurant, including our table and booth were dirty. We had to wipe the table off ourselves even after they asked the busser to clean it. He left the table sticky with food still everywhere and a long hair (maybe a foot long).
Additionally, they sat us next to the door to the patio seating. Even though no one was dining outside due to the heat, employees went in and out of that door repeatedly. This occurred literally the entire time we dined. Each time one of them opened the door, the heat overwhelmed us and the wind blew our napkins all over the place.
Next, when they finally brought our food, which took a while, the server forgot one of our entre's and promptly disappeared for about 15 minutes.
Finally, as we were leaving, two employees felt it appropriate to reprimand a third employee, the young lady who was the hostess, right in front of us. They spoke loudly, and pretty harshly to her. They basically told her she had failed at waiting tables, bussing tables and now hosting. When she started crying, they told her to stop. Again, I emphasize this occurred right in front of us as we were standing and waiting for the three of them to move out of the way of the door so we could leave.
Needless to say, we're disappointed and probably won't give this location...
