The service was very nice and sweet as soon as we entered and got sat down. During our wait, we got our menus and ordered our drinks as soon as possible which was fast and easy to go with. Sure we had to wait 20 to 25 minutes for our food but I guess the wait was really worth it. The food was delivered to our table and we didn't get our second order of onion rings but realized that we didn't order them so I guess that was on our part for that. Anyways in the picture, I got the Big Easy Chicken Sandwich which burned my mouth on accident because I forgot to let it cool sense it was hot when served. The sandwich was really good and flavorful making me smile while talking, the onion rings were just spot on in the crunch and in flavor too which also made me want more and more and more. Oh, don't get me started on the atmosphere. The atmosphere was very chatty in a good way, the bar was pretty cool and had many games in one room of the restaurant which also kept the activity up in the restaurant. I think I saw the owner but maybe it's a worker who knows but if it was the owner in the grey long hair, little old, and very serious which made us thought she had a mood but was only her doing her job which got the best for me. Other than that, I would recommend this place as a 5 star rating with the sandwich, the place, and the great waiter we had that made this restaurant very honorable as a 5 star rating. Nice job...
Read moreMy family and I went to the KC Wheel, and afterward decided to get dinner. Google Maps showed this place 6 minutes away.
We arrived and were quickly seated. The server greeted us and was helpful with suggestions.
As we waited for our meal, I went to wash my hands before eating. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the bathroom was because the place was packed. The restroom was tiny and could use some removal of graffiti, but most importantly, it was clean.
While we waited for food, my sons played the arcade games. They even had a change machine...
Our food arrived and everything was fresh.
We had 1 hour before our movie at Union Station, and we're able to order and eat in 45 minutes.
I'd definitely recommend this place. My tacos were excellent!
For a family of 4, we spent $50 before my $15 tip.
I was pleased that they had a kids' menu and I could order Mac n cheese for my 9 year old.
The curly fries were excellent because I stole some from my 16 year old son.
If I'm ever in the area, as Arnold would...
Read moreThis place has been a staple in the Roanoke/Valentine/west 39th st neighborhood for nearly 50 years. I loved it when I was a little kid and now nearly 40 yrs later I love bringing my friends and their kids here whenever I can. A cozy establishment with a wide variety of tasty items on the menu and great specials and deals every day. The staff is friendly and attentive and the music is always good. My favorite things to order are the Philly Melt with pepper jack cheese, the fried zucchini, and the freshly made curly fries. They also have a yummy Thai chicken quesadilla. They make all their sauces in house including their peanut sauce and tzatziki. Better than typical bar food. Monday night is 2 for 1 burgers! Steak/Shrimp night on Tues and Saturdays-comes with salad and baked potato. Wednesday nights is trivia night. Saturdays they have 3 tacos for less than $4. Can’t beat that! It’s rare that a restaurant can hold onto their charm and great energy for as long as this one has. Grateful they are still around after all...
