Why have I waited so long to try KC Smoke Burger on 39th Street? It is EXCELLENT. My niece eats nothing but burgers so I brought her here for our Girls' Day. On Tuesday and Wednesday it's 2-for-1 cheeseburgers. It comes with the fries and a drink for about $15! Excellent deal! These are some of the best burgers in KC and I'm sorry, but better than Flea Market. They seem kind of generic when it comes out - iceberg lettuce, thick slice of tomato, lots of raw white onions, and pickles. But these burgers are excellent! They're very charred but not overcooked or dry. The bun is delicious and has the char from the branded stamp which makes them not only lookers but adds a welcome level to the burger. The fries were really fresh and they're seasoned, but not over-seasoned. It didn't seem like much but neither of us could finish our meals. Parking is street parking and the entrance is semi-accessible. Once inside, there's a ramp to the seating area and cash register. We sat outside on the patio. Service was very friendly and great. Staff were practicing COVID protocols. We arrived when they opened, so I was unable to see if they were closing off any tables for COVID protocols.

A Smoking Burger I love quiet, middle of the week discoveries. Today I tried KC Smoke Burger Group. Located on the busy 39th street strip of businesses. A sign stated “Under New Management,” which gave me a new challenge. Pros- Decorated in a simple, cowboy theme, there were plenty of large tables for parties of four as well as smaller seating tables. I was the only guest so wait time was not a problem. I kept my order simple, a burger with swiss cheese. The meal came with fries. The impressive presentation of the burger on a little smoker grill when brought to my table, was neat. The waitress then placed the generous sized hamburger on the bun. Served with a side of lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, it turned out to be very tasty. The seared ‘KC’ on the bun is a catchy touch. With a price tag under 10.00 it was worth the stop. Cons- The waitress should have come back at least twice to check on me; shortly after delivering the meal and half way through. A different person asked how I enjoyed my meal, but it felt more like an afterthought after seeing me there. Overall: I would return again to try a different item on the menu.

Located on the Main Street with a bit limited parking but not that bad. Chicken wings were outstanding. Burgers were okay , halal burgers and halal bacon, but burgers seems to be missing the wow factor. I didnt find enough jalapeños in my fire burger. Fries were fresh and tasty , fries toppings spice was really good that we had to order extra . Good quantity and clean and fresh food. Great serving presentation. Bathroom was cleaned. 12-14 seating tables. When serving, the knifes were facing the customer. The restaurant seems busy with take away orders as well. Thanks for the “ thanks giving “ kids crayon coloring activity. Music was a bit louder, might be too early for Christmas songs. Kids like sword on top of the burgers. Their menu is affordable with variety of food including appetizers and seafood option. Lobby was clean and tidy. Our host was also accommodative and welcoming. Plenty of foundation drinks options as well.

Overall rating: 1/10 TLDR (too long didn't read): Had to wait 40 min for my order and the order was messed up. The two together leaves a bad impression.

My first time ordering from there. So I made an online order Sunday 7pm. The online menu has no description on what is put in each burger. One burger is Signature Burger with Bacon added on which comes with fries. The second burger is a Bacon Cheeseburger with avocado added on and no onions with fries included. The website says the order will be made in 20 minutes.

I arrived around 715 and waited till 8pm to get my order. I wasn't the only one waiting for their order. It looked empty but there was a group outside so I assume there were a lot of orders made prior to mine. So no big deal since these things happen. I took my order and went home. The issue occurred once I got home

My Signature Burger was the burger, turkey bacon, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes with some green sauce. I don't know what makes a Signature Burger so I can't verify I got what I paid for. My issue with my burger was that I was expecting pork bacon instead of turkey bacon. An annoyance since I assumed differently. I wish the menu was updated to reflect that specific point.

The real problem was the Bacon Cheeseburger. The bacon was turkey. An annoyance but that can be dismissed. No cheese even though it is called a cheeseburger. No avocado even though we paid the upcharge for avocado. There was onions present even though the order asked for no onions. Not even any condiments like ketchup, mustard, or mayo added on top. Just the bun, a burger that didn't have any smokiness to it, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.

To have a customer wait for that long on top of messing up on the order leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I have heard great reviews about this place so the experience was quite unsatisfactory for the price we paid for in comparison to other burger places that would cost less and taste better. I wish KC Smoke Burger well but it isn't an establishment worth a repeat...

Updated: I went to the restaurant to speak with the manager. He apologized and made things right although Doordash never returned the money, the owner still gave me a refund and my order. I couldn't be happier. It's not always about the money but doing right by people. The food is great!! So I will definitely return just won't ever go thru Doordash again. Thank you KC Smoke Burger for making things right!!

I placed an order on KC Smoke burger website for delivery last night. It did not take me to a 3rd party site but doordash was dupposed to deliver. I never received my order. I called and text the dasher several times with no answer. I called the restaurant and was immediately told to contact Door dash. I contact Door dash and was told to call the restaurant. I told them I already did and was told to contact you. Requested a supervisor but was got given one, instead the rep. stated he issued a refund back to KC Smoke Burger & that I would have to call to get it from them. By this time I'm very irritated, I just want my money back now!!! I call KC Smoke burger again & the lady who answered kept saying there's nothing she could do. I said then I need to talk to whomever can. She said the manager was not there, I'd have to wait until tomorrow. I don't know why there's no one on staff at all times who has the capability to handle issues. I call back today and was told again manager not there but they would have someone call me back, but still no call back. I will never order from here again. I will update this review if I ever get...

With only one other family dining in the restaurant my girlfriend and I sat down to eat a valentine's dinner together. The waiter eventually brought us our menu's and took our drink orders. He returned with one beverage, mine, and asked my girlfriend what she wanted to drink for a second time. He left and eventually after five to ten minutes returned with her drink after I had to signal him to remind him. He took our order and the night continued to get worse. Two tables and a group had been seated by this time and our order came out with the appetizer and burgers together... but my girlfriends burger didn't come out. So we wait... and wait.. and wait.. til the guy finally comes around and asks what's wrong. I told him the burger and hotdog he brought was mine and we needed her pesto gyro burger. He went back to get it only to return to tell my girlfriend "there isn't any more that's why it never came out. Did you want something else?" He hands her a menu and proceeds to take other orders around the restaurant. After fifteen minutes my food was cold and hers still wasn't on the way. At this point I look forward to this place closing as they do not reflect the quality of business the other shops on 39th street strive to achieve. Do not recommend. Will...
