To start, most restaurants will have a wait list or at the very least an order of who walked in first. We showed up and told the attendant that we had one person showing up soon. Instead of seating us, they told us we have to stay in the waiting area. Every other Hibachi style restaurants that I have been to would have seated us, and then asked if we knew what they would like. Nope. We sat in the waiting area until our full party was there. While we were waiting a group of five walked in and just walked right by the attendant. Once we got seated we see that he seated them before us, even though they stated they were waiting on two others. The two others showed up right before we got seated. Once seated we saw them seat two other people at a separate stove. They didn't even offer them the chance to get their food a few minutes early. I told the server that they were welcome to join us and we didn't mind waiting a little while longer. So they moved them to our stove/table. After that they asked if they could fill up the table, we said we didn't mind. Additionally, they had the prices at around 19 dollars and up for hibachi style meals. That price was ridiculous. Their food was no where near to the quality of 20 dollars per meal. The soup was just heated water, with a small amount of onions and noodles, which, was so disappointing. The salad, differed from other restaraunts of this style because they offered ranch, and more ranch instead of water orange colored sauce I've typically seen. The meats were dry and unflavorful, the fried rice had little to no vegetables, it was very dry, and had only 3 eggs for a full table. The "yellow sauce" that so many people refer to, was a close resemblance of the combination of honey mustard and Dijon mustard. The worst part by far: as soon, and yes I mean the very moment, that the chef was done cooking the waitress brought over togo boxes. In my mind, that is a hint at them telling us to get out. The waitress was fairly decent, no complaints there besides the boxes. On a side note, this is th2 very first hibachi style restaurant that I've been to that had plastic plateware, paper napkins, and chopsticks that broke unevenly and gave us splinters (we used a fork to eat after that). All other restaurants of this type have had glass plates, cloth napkins, and they had chopsticks that didn't give you splinters and for the untrained chopstick wielders they had easy to use sticks.
I rate this as one of my worst experiences, so bad that I typically try to give restaraunts more than three tries before ruling it out. That being said, don't eat here. Eat anywhere else, you'll have a much...

There's a very large parking lot in a strip mall type area so we never have to worry about parking extreamly close to someone else. This restaurant is located close to Barry Road and 169 Highway so it is easy to find. There are 10 hibachi tables that seat 8 people so we have never had an issue with being seated rather quickly. There are also regular tables so people can order other menu items besides the hibachi grill. š
I always enjoy the food I generally get shrimp and chicken hibachi which comes with: noodle broth soup, side salad, vegetables, shrimp, rice (white or fried), chicken and the optional noodles. My daughter choose the kid shrimp which comes with: noodle broth soup, side salad, vegetables, shrimp, rice (white or fried) and the optional noodles. My son opted for teriyaki chicken which came with: noodle broth soup, side salad, vegetables, bonus shrimp (4/5), rice (white or fried), chicken and the optional noodles. My boyfriend choose steak and chicken and it accompanied: noodle broth soup, side salad, vegetables, steak, rice (white or fried), chicken and the optional noodles.
By the way catching shrimp š¤ with your mouth is an art... unfortunately not something I excel at so my shrimp landed on my: forehead, shoulder and ultimately my lap. Lol š but it is part of the fun and I still try.
There was so much food leftover we had to get 3 boxes (one was all rice... actually 3 bowls that were full š š š of fried rice) and we were so full, we literally wadded all the way home. Hahaha. We ended up having the leftovers for another supper meal where again we were stuffed and still had leftovers. I did feed the kids a lunch of the end of the noodles and meat but there was still a lot of rice left. I ended up reusing the rice for another stir fry chicken meal only adding a chicken breast with broccoli and having another full meal. š It does feel expensive but if I think about it as the cost of that one meal had compleat meals for 6 adults and 8 kids the cost average is not bad at all.
We will be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the worst Japanese Steak House I have ever had the misfortune to eat at. We went to this place based on the Google reviews which made it sound great. Either the reviewers are employees or friends of the employees, or they have just never eaten at a good Japanese Steak House before.
My first clue should have been when my wife, son and I showed up and the host directed a waiter to "squeeze" us in at a table and asked the patrons already seated to scoot over to make room for us. While waiting for our waitress to take our orders, I happened to look over at the hibachi grill next to us and underneath looked as if it had not been cleaned in quite awhile. We should have left at that point. But alas, we decided to try it anyway. We ordered hot tea for my wife and I, but the first pot and 2 cups had to be sent back as there was what we hoped was a hair floating in the cup and it could not be determined whether it came from the pot or the cup. A soup and salad are part of the meal, the soup I am pretty sure is spaghetti in what tasted like broth made with Ramen flavor packets. For the salad we had requested the house dressing which our waitress said was a ginger dressing. I have never seen a white creamy ginger dressing and it tasted like ranch with a hint of what I guess was supposed to be ginger and the salad was drowning in it. And on to the meal. One of my favorite parts of a Japanese Steak House dinner has always been a properly prepared shrimp sauce, but I should have been forewarned when it was referred to as yellow sauce. Being leery after the ramen spaghetti soup and ranch with a hint of something gingery dressing, I asked for a tiny bit to be placed on the corner of my plate to taste. And am I glad that I did, because it tasted like some type of dressed up brown gravy, not at all like a shrimp sauce that I have become accustomed to at the many other JSH I have eaten at before. The shrimp was slightly under-cooked and the steak without flavor. The most edible part of the meal was the fried rice, which is not to say it was great, just the most edible. If you like paying first class prices for sub-par food and service, then this is the place for you. Otherwise save your money and...
