Red Lobster — Restaurant in Kansas City

The dinner portions were good. Salad was very small and had rotten parts in the romain 😕 Our server was okay. She gave us what we needed but was in too much of a hurry when we were her only table. I signed up for emails so I got a free Birthday dessert which was the chocolate cake. It was amazing! The biscuits were not fresh but still soft in the middle. They need to remove the green beans off the menu and go with broccoli or another veggie. The green beans were really waxy and not fresh.... I got the pick 3 with 2 servings or coconut shrimp (pineapple dipping sauce is awesome) and shrimp scampi. Scampi is usually served with rice but this was in a dish with garlic butter. My man got pick 2 with loaded BP, Salmon and scampi. They were good as well but his salad was small and had brown spots on the romain as well. We just had water to drink this visit. All in all pretty good. When they sat us they sat us next to the only other table there. When the restaurant is empty it would be nice to sit away from the only other tables in there for more privacy. And... Let folks sit, read the menu and then decide if they want an appetizer or drink. If we didn't feel rushed. We would of had time to pick drinks and appetizers. Just an idea for your servers. When we left there was a manager up front talking to the hostess. Most managers at restaurants say. Thanks and come again but this guy just ignored us when we walked by.. The resturant just seemed to be too empty... The womens bathroom door as well opens good but when you leave the door is very heavy. Watch yourself as you exit because it is hard to ooen and I hit my Prego Belly on the door since it was so heavy. It scared me but no reason why the damn thing should be so hard to open anyway...

My husband and I arrived later in the evening on a Saturday for a dinner away from the kids so why the hostess thought it was a good idea to seat just us (a party of 2) near a table of 10 with three children under the age of 4 I do not understand and it was a real mood killer. The other issue we had was the hostess who went to get our drinks (because our waitress was busy with that party of 10) knocked the drinks all over me and the table when she was trying to hand them to us...now this hostess didn't appear to be older then 17 so as a mother I felt bad for her and didn't want her to panic or feel bad for her mistake however she never looked directly at us and apologized. This is a problem because for customers who don't have kids or understand anxiety they would assume she was being rude and didn't care that she dumped alcoholic beverages on a woman on a date. The manager came over to applogize and she handled it wonderfully even provided a free appetizer and gave us a bit off the bill which was appreciated. I know had all this happened to a different customer they would have been highly upset but I was pleased with how the manager handled it but she needs to train any staff who will be serving the guests how to handle any possible situations. Oh and we didn't get the biscuits until we were basically done with our meal which was a bummer as my husband loves those and didn't get to really enjoy them like normal. We called at 4:45 pm to see if we could get our party of 10 reserved for 6:15pm. The person who answered said no problem. When we arrived, they said they have our table away because we were so late. We arrived at 6:18pn. It turns out the person who answered the phone put our reservation down for 4:45 PM, the exact time we called. Everyone makes mistakes and I get that. She said “we don’t take reservations “ But I clearly talked to someone there on the phone that said “no problem”. The person who answered the phone could have at least told us that they did not take reservations, but instead said no problem will put you down . So they offered us a 45 minute wait, and when I tried to explain that we were not late, and we just didn’t understand why our table was given away, the person who looked like a manager at the front dismissed me and told us to have a good night, just like that. Basically saying “just leave”. So we did and will not return to this location. We’ve been going here for decades. We would’ve probably waited the 45 minutes, but when we were told to have a good night and dismissed, we decided it was probably best to leave. I really have no words…..so...
