Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Kansas City

This particular location is the very embodiment of excellent costumer service.

I've been coming to this restaurant pretty regularly since it opened and have had no issues until today. Today however, I had a couple of issues with my order that I didn't realize until I got home. I immediately called them and they asked me if I could come back to the restaurant and bring my original receipt and the card I paid with. When I arrived they cheerfully greeted me and asked if I was the one that called about my order. They asked NO questions, gave me NO run arounds, made me jump through NO hoops. They simply apologized numerous times, insisted on refunding my entire order despite me arguing that I didn't need a refund, just corrections as I was happy to pay for my food. They refunded the full price anyway, then DOUBLED my entire order, not just the two items that were wrong.

This is costumer service at its absolute best. They made a mistake and more than made up for it. This building is always clean and tidy, always very polite, friendly, cheerful and respectful, and again, the years that I've been going there, this is the first time they have messed up my order. I was already a loyal and consistent costumer, now I'll be visiting even more often knowing that not only is their food good quality, but their service and integrity is also top rate. Major props and a big THANK YOU to the entire staff (especially to Mary for being so sweet, friendly and helpful). Kid wanted Raising Cane’s but I opted for Zaxby’s since it was closer. Have always been a fan & good customer. Got bread with my meal & an extra basket of toast. Asked for all bread to be TOASTED on both sides. Got home & discovered that all of the toast (which looked amazing, toasted & super buttery) was so salty it was inedible. The outside edges were somewhat palatable on some but the entire part inside of the edges was butter soaked and tasted like pouring an entire packet or shaker of salt in your mouth.

Called the restaurant & spoke to the manager Michael, primarily to make them aware of the issue. While he agreed to replace or refund me for the toast, he was careful to let me know multiple times that I was the ONLY customer with this complaint or issue with the hundreds of pieces of toast they had sold or given out. I even offered to bring it up for him to taste but of course he wasn’t interested in tasting food that had been in my possession.

Be careful with your toast at this location. If you had a restricted diet or high blood pressure this was enough salt to send you to the hospital.

It was hopefully a training issues or heavy handed seasoned (the fries were heavily seasoned today also) which could be fixed but since the Owner Operator isn’t concerned (after all I’m the only customer with a problem), it likely won’t be addressed!

New Update: We came back tonight and had great service and HOT delicious food! We will be back!

Update: I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars...as we sat at our table, the Manager, Alexis, came by and asked how everything was. I told her the flavor of the food was good but that it was cold. She offered to replace it but we were already full and I didn't think that was necessary. She offered to put us on a list for the next time we come in but again, I didn't think it was necessary. She said then that she was going to give us some free tender cards for next time and I said that would be Okay. Like I said, I'll try it again and I appreciate the way she handled it.

My daughter and I thought we'd give Zaxby's a try, having received a coupon for 3 free chicken tenders. We got in around 5:30 on a Friday evening and there were maybe 2 tables occupied at the time. We ordered some cheese bites, wing meals and the 3 tenders. The cheese bites were not fresh and were actually cold, the 3 tenders were cold, my traditional wings were cold. My daughter's tenders and boneless wings were warmer and our fries were hot. I'm not impressed at this point, and this was our first time at any Zaxby's.
