I guess I didn't get my message across.
Here are some things I think you can correct.
Never have active construction work inside your restaurant while customers are trying to enjoy their dining experience.
The sounds of using a tool (drill, whatever it was) was annoying
Never have your employees, including family, sit at a table in the restaurant during business hours. It's not a good look.
If you need employee space for a break or work, build it somewhere out of sight from the customers.
Always have one person or more greet your customers in a friendly manner, not waving them into the restaurant while seated at a table.
Do you want to be a nice sit down restaurant or fast food?
You have elements of both.
For your pricing, I would suggest a sit down restaurant, which means have a waiter or waitress take the order at the table and not at the bar.
Have the waiter or waitress fill drinks and not the open fountain drink self serve.
An alternative, would be to have the order taken and fulfilled at a counter (not a bar)
Most importantly, never serve low quality or poorly prepared food. If you have served good fajitas, I might have forgotten or overlooked these other items
Dry fajitas are terrible. I knew before I even took a bite they weren't going to be good.
It made me wonder if they were lunch fajitas that were warmed up. We ate there at about 3PM, so I guess it wouldn't surprise me.
food needs to be fresh and prepared properly.
I hope you take some of this advice or your restaurant won't make it in this competitive Houston area market.
UPDATE: Based on the owners response I'm supposed to point out every problem I find while I'm at their restaurant while I'm at the restaurant and not after the fact.
Newsflash: There were so many issues I would have spent my entire meal complaining. When I go out to eat with my wife, I want it to be positive and uplifting. Which is why when she asked me what I thought about the fajitas I said so so, when in fact they were terrible.
The fajitas were so bad anyone with eyes could see they were dry and over grilled or something. Either your chef or the waitress should have caught this.
It's not my job to run your restaurant. Most of these mistakes are restaurant 101.
I suggested that your employees shouldn't be sitting at one of the guest tables in the restaurant. I also suggested building a small office or workspace outside of the dining area for your employees that's NOT the kitchen.
I appreciate you want to take care of your employees. So build a break room instead of using the main seating area for breaks.
And what's this about accommodating us with a seat in the middle of the restaurant. We sat ourselves.
If you don't want to accept or take advice that's on you.
I'm not asking for forgiveness.. this is nothing personal.
just trying to help you understand you won't be in business long if this is how...
Read moreThis is my YELP review.
I can't believe all of the four-star and five-star reviews on here. If Yelp allowed a ZERO star that would be my rating.
We live in Cypress, but were in the area and I looked at Yelp and saw this restaurant had high ratings, so we thought we would give it a try. We went there about 3PM (lunch/dinner time). That may be part of the problem, but I don't think so.
I should have gone with my first instinct. We open the door and there were no other customers. This is family owned and some 60ish guy (I assume one of the owners), was sitting at one of the tables with his hair net on and waved us in.
It felt like we were walking into someone else's house unannounced.
No one really greeted us and we took our own seat. A younger lady came to our table and gave us menus and told us when ready to get up and walk to the bar to order.
There was a tall ladder right next to our table (the dinner area isn't that big) and as we were eating our queso and chips, a man was drilling a hole in the wall standing at the top of the ladder.
Not exactly ideal to be doing that while a customer is in the restaurant.
It was really loud and my wife and I looked up at him and he looked back and said, "is that too loud?" duh
Meanwhile other workers that looked like family just seem to be hanging out (one sitting at another table while looking at her phone)
Another lady that worked there (I assume another family member) had her laptop out and seems to be handling some restaurant business.
meanwhile the hair net man sat at the same table the entire time we were there.
Now the worst part. We ordered chicken and beef fajitas.
This had to be the worst restaurants fajitas we've ever eaten
My wife looked at me and asked what I thought and I nodded "so-so"
I was being nice. Both the beef and chicken meat were very dry and low quality.
The pico de gallo looked old, the refried beans were ok.
Meanwhile the guy drilling a hole in the wall (turns out he may have been dismounting a TV) was installing a TV in the back of the restaurant.
The service was next to nothing. They delivered our food and we had to call the waiter (another person than the person who delivered our food) to get a to go cup for my wife's soda.
The fountain drinks are self-serve.
And to top it all off, the food was higher priced than most good Mexican food restaurants.
I don't normally write reviews or bad reviews, but this was bad.
This is my second YELP bust in a month. I'm beginning to not trust good reviews.
I knew it didn't meet the smell test the second we stepped foot in the restaurant.
We were in the Katy Mills mall at Bass Pro Shop. We should have just gone to Los Cucos or another...
Read moreABSOLUTELY LOVE this place!!!!! My family and I had the pleasure to dine in at this restaurant. I am SO GLAD WE DID. I like to support small and locol businesses, and that's what this restaurant is. They have Mexican and Tex-Mex. The owners were VERY NICE and soo accommodating. She was very patient with my son, he wasn't too sure what he wanted, so she saw this, steeped in and helped him order what he wanted. I had the Chilaquiles, Verdes style, and they were sooo good, especially if you dont like too spicy; now they're red Chilaquiles are spicy, she said. They topped it with avocado queso and crema. It was delicious! I will be ordering it again. My husband got the migas plate, which was good as well, good portions! My daughter had a chicken quesadilla, which was stuffed full of cheese and chicken, andmy son had an egg and sausage plate. He loves breakfast foods. They had 4.99 margaritas, they were a good size, and they were really good. I had Mango, husband had the watermelon.... at the end when we were done eating, the owner, this time it was the husband, came over and gave the kids crayons and a coloring page; then came out with two little cups of chocolate ice cream and asked if they could have it. I thought that was a very nice gesture to do for the kids.. We will most DEFINITELY be back, you can...
