I went on a slow Sunday evening . The young lady that was helping us was very helpful and informative about the concept of chip . I truly was so excited for this place and have been wanting to try them for a long time . Before I ordered I overheard that a customer can receive a free cookie for giving a review . And I asked her before we ordered can we use the cookie in their four pack . We ordered our four cookies thinking we would get two of them , the ones in the box for free since we left two reviews . And then she pulls out a basket of cookies . And said these are the free ones . I felt misled and scammed into purchasing four cookies when I only wanted to actually buy two . When we looked down at the total and saw it was 17.99 for four cookies we were surprised and my friend tried to tell her about the situation but the worker perhaps didn’t understand . I’m not a confrontational person at all and I can take a lost especially if it’s just a couple of dollars but it’s the fact of how misleading that was that really disappointed us . She eventually gave up and we both left with now 6 cookies . When we got into the car we tried the SW chip , biscoff , boneless, and tres leche . Although the cookies tasted good after a couple more bites in I began to realize this isn’t your classic cookie . If anything they reminded me of a muffin top .It’s extremely rich and undercooked which caused my stomach to hurt. At this point we were already annoyed by the situation but the cookie wasn’t even to our standard . It’s a chunkier cookie and more so soft than anything , slightly crispy on the edges but extremely aerated. Soft and overwhelmingly buttery and I never complain about butter ever . Very one note besides the slight crispyness on the edges . The fact of the matter is is that it tasted like a cookie but I was not pleased with the cook or the texture at all . If you’re looking for something more crispy and chewy you won’t find it here their cookies are soft and very gooey . I will say they got the sweetness of the cookie just right for me . We both enjoyed the tres leche one the most if we had to pick . Overall we sadly won’t be...
Read moreGourmet cookies are a real treat, and over the past few years, there have been new restaurants/bakeries opening that specialize in cookies, many of them large enough to share a single cookie with another person. One of the best I have tried so far is Chip Cookies, a growing national chain.
This Chip Cookies location is in the west Houston suburb of Katy, Texas and it occupies a small space with limited indoor seating. Most who visit will get their cookies to go, so this shouldn’t be a problem. You can place orders for delivery, too.
With the cookies, Chip Cookies believes in making cookies your way. If you prefer, you can select one of the Fan Favorites like the tres leches chip, with its buttery and cinnamon goodness, or the oreo dunk chip, which tastes like the legendary cookie for which it is named. These cookies are already loaded with delicious toppings, ready to satisfy.
If you would rather have a little fun and make a cookie the way you want it, then I suggest starting with a base cookie like the SW Chip or Sugar Chip, then customize it to your liking by adding toppings. The assortment of toppings is much like what you would see in a do-it-yourself ice cream shop. You can choose among such options as whipped cream, cinnamon, chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and much more.
Chip Cookies are an easy standout in the cookie specialization business crowd for several reasons. The customization is fun, but it goes way beyond that. The cookies themselves are baked fresh and delicious. They are not overly sweet, like those at other cookie bakeries. They are so good you will find yourself constantly opening the box on your kitchen counter, hoping there is at least one more left.
Cookie bakeries are springing up everywhere. Chip Cookies is one of the very best in this niche market. I recommend a visit to this location in Katy, Texas or one of the many other locations across the United States. One taste, and you will be permanently hooked on these delicious...
Read moreI visited Chip Cookie Shop, and when I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming. It is a smaller shop, but not at all cluttered. It is very clean and simplistic. The staff are courteous, polite, and helpful with the offerings they provide. For service and Atmosphere, I give a 10. Now we can talk about price and taste. Though, I think that 5$ for a cookie (regular size), having the tres Leche glaze, whipped creme, and a little cinnamon/sugar is about 1$, too much, some would say 5$ was worth it. Maybe I'm overreaching on price. With the price being 5$, I was thinking to myself, it presents well. I sure do hope it tastes as well. He comes the letdown to me. The taste was bland, and the whipped creme was just something there to add appeal. I also have a leftover taste in my mouth. I've had tres, Leche, and I've always tasted some cinnamon. I am on the fence with Chip cookies due to the taste. I may in the future try a different type that they...
