What a horrible experience we had at the establishment today!! They must be under a new management/owner. We have never been treated so poorly before.
We have been eating here since they first opened. Everyone that works here is always so nice and polite.
Today the woman (a heavy set one) at the front desk was rude as can be and asked if we had a mask, of course we did. Mind you I don't wear a mask but I do respect the fact that when there is a hand made mask sign on the door I do wear it. We put it on once we are in the restaurant. she said something about gloves and her rude tone of voice. We know exactly what to do its not our first time. We eaten here during Covid I'm pretty sure the rules have not changed
Let me tell you people respond to other people the same way they are spoken to. I got up to refill my drink and honestly forgot to put it on, because I'm not use to wearing it. She approach our table and literally yelled at me" this is the second time I have told you to wear a mask" like I was a 3 year old or something. Everyone in the restaurant turn and looked. I almost went off on her but I contain myself.
I believe if she would of been nicely about it, this would of been a different story. This woman shouldn't be a greeter at the door she has no Respect and or personality.
Instead she should be worrying about those nasty bathrooms in keeping them cleaned. They are so filthy it needs a really good deep clean. I went in when they first opened and I never use them ever because they are always so dirty, gross and stinky.
Thank God I WILL not be coming back here again. They are a lot of other Mediterranean restaurants in the Katy area that are really nice and have...
Read moreWe walked in for lunch to see a large spacious seating. The sign tells you to sit anywhere and and help yourself to the buffet. Let me tell you that this was one of the best Mediterranean food that I had so far and it's a buffet!
I love the freshness of the food and the different salads and hummus dips on the left side of the buffet. My fave was the tauboli and Greek salad. I served myself a small portion of babaganoush (eggplant dip) and 3 different types of hummus. Loved the lemony flavors that were infused into the dips.
In the middle, there were different types of bread and pizza. I wish the pita bread were warm. On the right side were 2 types of soup: lentil and chicken vermicelli. Both were so delicious and flavorful. My son had 4 small servings of it and he doesn't really eat lentils.
The right side of the buffet there were meat dishes and falafel and hot veggies. My son gave me a bite of the falafel and let me tell you it was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. It was perfect. The falafel that I had were dry and hard so I wasn't a big fan until I had Dimassi's. Most of the meat dishes were good such as the beef kabob, chicken kabob, chicken stew and the gyro. They had fried chicken drumstick but it would have been better if it was seasoned a bit more and served fresh out of the fryer.
They even have dessert and I shared one of each items with my son because we were so full but cannot resist dessert. There were coconut cake, cookie jam, baklava and fruits i.e. oranges, honeydew, and cantaloupe.
We left satisfied and the food doesn't weigh you down vs Chinese buffet....
Read moreOk. I love Dimassis. It is a small franchise buffet specializing in Mediterranian ish food. First the good... The food is almost always delicious. The lambshank (you have to ask for it. But it is included in the buffet dinners and weekends) is amazing. The gyro (sometimes out. Sometimes you have to ask for it) is really good. The tabouli is top knotch. The roastbeef is great. And this location used cinnamon in it and i loved that. The kabobs are good. This location this time they were a tad dkinny and overcooked... Which i liked. The fried chicken drumsticks are good. My wife loves Thier falafel. They had a dish that i think was baked or roasted cube steak that was really good. The grilled cauliflower is good as are the roasted potatoes but too much cilantro on them this time. They have rosewater which is tasty. .. And omg try the garlic paste... It will change your world and it goes with nearly everything. The flat bread and naan bread are good.
Now some bad... The bathrooms are always icky. The lentil soup tasted like bland water. Nearly everyone i saw who got it,us included, took one spoonful and put it aside. We,and several others, told the chashier/hostes (maybe manager) and she admitted there was a new cook and apologized.
All in all... I love this place and this small chain... I just wish they kept thier bathrooms cleaner. It is around $15 per person but well worth it. And they are always nice and awesome. We eat at various locations at least twice a month. Even have a largish group eat at the galleria...
