Grand Wok Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Katy

So I decided to go with the reviews instead of what I already know and so far liked. Wanted to try something better and turned out to be worse. Price is fair for the amount of food but definitely not well proportioned. Ordered a chicken lo mein, chicken pad Thai, chicken fried rice with spare rib. Not enough chicken on the lo mein, too much noodles counted pieces of chicken, dry and blend and no flavor. Pad Thai was chicken and I got beef instead, also very dry, better taste but still very dry. Rice was good in flavor and another if chicken, but the spare ribs were definitely not spare rib just plain regular ribs, more bone than meat. Suggestion, stick with what you already know and it’s good instead of going for reviews. My old place is better...

I must say that I was very impressed with the food. I bought a high school team out to cicis pizza and saw this place next door. The lady at the register was very nice. The food was hot and fresh, and what I really liked the most about the house fried rice, is that it had shrimp that you could actually see and taste. So many Chinese restaurants that I go to always use either baby shrimp are popcorn shrimp and you can’t even taste the shrimp. So I was impressed with the food and service. The next time I am out in Katy, I will definitely be eating here again. Keep up the good work. Excellent service and hospitality. Tonight we enjoyed the General Tso Chicken and Mongolian Beef family dinners. The portions are more than adequate for sharing! The wonton soup has a light broth, not very salty, but very good. Egg rolls are crispy and flavorful accompanied with their sweet & sour sauce makes for a delicious paring. The rice compliments the entree as you would expect. Hot & crispy chicken with fresh broccoli was delicious. The Mongolian Beef is tender and savory, onions giving an authentic flavor you will enjoy.
