So we went to Hot Bits having heard about it on a whatsapp group. The place is a little far from our place but looking at their menu ( and pictures) we thought its hopefully worth it.....
So after 45 minutes of driving and two conversations of “ when will we be there” ...we arrived at a rather inconspicuous place they are calling Hot Bits...
We were very very ....almost superlatively floored....with this place’s food! We ordered a Chicken tikka pizza and promised ourselves to “ come here more often”. Amazing stuff...like it defines how desi toppings should be used to bring about the true flavors which touch one’s soul! Pro tip: Save half the pizza for next day and reheat it in an oven or toaster grill....it becomes twice as awesome! Yes it gets even better with time....its like marriage...maybe...
We also ordered kathi rolls and they were also amazing!!
However, there is scope for improvement on the portion size of the Kathi Roll. They are about $8 each and leave you half way in your culinary nirvana...because they don’t last long ...they probably stand for the bits in “ Hot bits” .My wife struggles with finishing 2 slices of a medium pizza and for the first time in many moons...she wanted to order more after the Kathi roll....so if the portion size could be improved...that would have us come back for Kathi rolls too...which we love by the way for the taste part( Still thinking about it)....
They haven’t gone brute force on the marketing yet...but with the taste they provide in the food....they don’t need much! Just get us bigger portions of the goodies and we’ll call it “ game... set...
Read moreMy wife posted a poor review for these guys. They some how managed to get it taken down. Very sad. Their items are pretty bad. Samosa chat without the sauces, chicken 65 tasting like sweet and sour chicken. Beware of the tastes because their explanation is every dish can be cooked in multiple ways and so it is ok for a south Indian dish to taste like a completely different taste and anyone who points it out has a racist view. Very sad. If genuine reviews are being taken down, which we posted with pics and receipt , how can one trust the review process. Shame on Google and shame on the restaurant. I am going to dispute the charges purely based on this.
Post 2: I think this is a better utilization of my time. It is social service - saving one drive by diner like me at a time - so my time is well spent. On top of serving bad food you have the time to call your customers liars and what do u expect after that. You should refrain from that bad attitude and bad behavior and utilize your time cooking or better yet learning to cook. I will continue to fight my charges and also my review to be upheld. I usually don't write reviews since we see a lot of bad restaurants. But when I come across really bad place where 4 absolutely hungry people can't even complete half the samosa chat, then it has to say something. So I took the time to write this review and even then you use my half plate samosa chat for your benefit and so I am addressing...
Read moreNice Indian halal place to eat. They have a wide selection of food. We enjoyed our food. Butter chicken was as usual. Nothing special. But we loved the tandoori roti. Tasted amazing with the butter chicken. Chicken biriyani came in a heap too. Enough for 2. Place is somewhat clean. We changed tabled once. There were foods on the chairs. The napkins were torn. They need to change that out. Plates were chipped and marked. There was a dirty bucket next to the bathroom. Gross ! Food comes after 12-15 min. So watch tv to pass some time. The guy at the front wasn’t much of a help but he did check with us once the food arrived and in between. I love the decor; especially the lighting. Vey well done. I think the price is ok. Update: We went back. This time we found a new menu behind the menu booklet !!! I was surprised. We ordered a dahi puri and it was great. A must try for everyone. The garlic was nothing special but the butter nan was good. We also had the mixed grill platter. The sheesh kabab and chicken tikka was good. The boti kabab of both lamb and chicken was dry and not juicy. Golab jamun was the show stopper. I don’t know if they make it in the restaurant or it is can or store bought - whatever it is- it...
