We were sat at a dirty table to start. I asked the waitress if we could get a wipe down due to the sticky mess and grease. She came back with a dry towel and wiped up a 4 inch area where the more obvious mess was, and left the rest. Then we ordered drinks. My wife a diet Coke, and me a spritz. The spritz was fine, but the diet Coke was flat. My wife told our waitress very nicely that it was flat and asked for it to be replaced. Our waitress brought back one even flatter than the previous one. That requires that she didn't care enough, or have enough snap to make sure it had been fixed before bringing out the next one. So my wife asked that it be removed and she would drink water. I've been a waiter before. If one of my customers did that to me, I would remove it from the bill, fix the problem and then bring her out one at no charge. Instead she just brought a water. Then we ordered. I ordered nachos and asked if ground beef could be added, and she said yes. My wife ordered a shawarma wrap with fries. 10 minutes later, the food runner brought out my nachos, but no shawarma. My wife insisted I start eating and I did, assuming her food would be out shortly. As it turns out, our waitress turned in my nachos as an appetizer and was waiting for me to finish them before bringing my wife's entree. But we didn't find that out until 10-15 minutes went by, because that's how long it took her to come check on us. My wife asked that her food just be brought out with a to go box, and she did. Immediately. Which means my wife's food was sitting in the back dying while I ate mine. To top it off, when we got the check, my $12 nachos turned into $18 nachos by adding ground beef. That's half the price of my nachos to add what looked like $2 worth of ground beef. This was on a half order of nachos. At Lupe Tortilla, on a full order it's $2 extra for chicken fajita and $6 for beef fajita. At Pappasitos, a full plate of ground beef nachos is $3 cheaper than the half at this place with ground beef. I'm almost positive I was overcharged for the ground beef. When we got home, we discovered that the garlic sauce her shawarma was supposed to include, was missing from her meal. I've only been here one other time for brunch and will not be back. What a...
Read moreI showed up Saturday afternoon (not busy) few minutes before my friends meeting me coming in from nearby golf course. I was met by young lady just sat a couple to a table, I noticed all tvs were playing repeat sports of sometype only 3 different events playing on MANY tvs. I ask can we sit somewhere that we can watch the Players golf tourn. she said oh we don't get that channel. I said it is CBS you get it, it is free! She said I need to ask the mgr, she proceeded to walk across floor speak with a long blond lady who never acknowledged me and motioned her to do something, I saw the lady was not wiping and putting up coffee cups. I was still standing at host stand. Another young lady greeted me a waitress I told her what is not becoming my frustration she said oh I need to ask the mgr, again she spoke to the long blond lady who now sighs and eyerolls never looking my direction the young lady proceeded to head another direction. This place is unbelievable and not in a good way. I was part meeting friends and treating them to few drinks and snacks finish watching the tourn on tv. They had just played a round nearby. I was in part scouting this place to see if it might be a venue to bring couple of clients for more relaxed meeting celebrate time when they are in town soon. It is NOT! I left disgusted I even drove down to this location which was only 12 miles but still should not matter if I were next door or coming from across town. These people do not value patronage nor display hospitality to gain or retain ones business. My 3 companies would never gotten off the ground if I took care of people in this manner. Do as you wish but my time and monies will not attempt to patron this...
Read moreOrganic foods have a strong appeal to a large percentage of the population and the same can be said for vegan and vegetarian options. Itâs not always easy to find a restaurant that offers all the above, but a good example of one is On the Kirb.
This local chain expanded to the west Houston suburb of Katy just a short time ago and area fans couldnât be happier. The menu is highlighted by pizza, burgers and sandwiches, weekend brunch, and other items. They have a full bar, too, so you should have no problem finding just the right combination of food and drink to match your dietary demands.
The food served at On the Kirb is fresh and natural tasting. Vegan and vegetarian food lovers will like that the menu clearly indicates which foods fit these specifications. Iâm not vegan or vegetarian, but I like that On the Kirb goes out of their way to make sure customers can avoid foods with any animal contents. And if you are a carnivore, like me, then you will be happy to know that On the Kirb has more than enough burgers, meaty sandwiches, and meat- enhanced pizzas to keep you happy. The fresh, natural taste of the food gives you a feeling of contentment.
This Katy location is also great for another reason: Sports. There are gobs of televisions, including a large screen at one end of the restaurant and smaller screens all around. Parking is abundant, and free, and there is outdoor seating, too. Adding everything up, itâs difficult to think of any way to improve On the Kirb in Katy, and thus it earns my...
