Initial review: What a disappointment. I went here with my family and bought each of my kids a waffle cone. The lady asked me if I wanted child size and I said yes. The cones are decent size and she gave us a pitiful little scoop of ice cream in each. I planned to share a bit with my kids so in one I ordered a double scoop. The two scoops didnât even fill the waffle cone. Later at home, after reflecting on what we got for the $20 I paid (my grandma also had a cone) it occurred to me that the âchild sizeâ is not reflected in the price, only the amount. Shame on the girl working there and shame on me for not realizing. My 35 pound 5 year old finished his no problem because there was nothing to it. The ice cream was fine but I donât recommend this place based on our experience.
Updated review: I contacted the company via their website and they were very customer oriented and prompt. They heard my concern and promised to use this as a âteachable momentâ which I believe they will. Iâm very satisfied with the outcome and think they went above and beyond for outstanding customer service. We have since returned and had a great experience and delicious ice cream. I spoke with the manager and she confirmed that the amount of ice cream was the kids size and it IS a kiki (child, not sure about spelling) cup price. So great ice cream and fabulous customer service but I do not recommend the child size cone, especially in a waffle cone. Instead get a waffle...
Read moreWe met a local who told us this was a must try since we wanted ice cream. It's really tiny, tucked into the Princeville shopping center. There is literally only room for about 4 customers at a time and it is set up just like an old school ice cream shop. You can see the selection through the glass and they give free samples of whatever you want before you purchase.
There are about 16 different varieties of ice cream and it seemed like there was something for everyone. From traditional favorites like Mint Chip and Vanilla Bean to sorbets and fun island flavors like coconut pineapple, mango, and Kauai cookie, I had a tough time deciding! But don't worry, there is a 5 scoop sampler if you canât decide or just want to try a bunch of flavors with friends and family.
They also have either a waffle cone or chocolate dipped options. I got the macadamia nut in a cup, simple and delicious on a hot day. It was silly smooth with full sized macadamia nuts. So so good! My daughter got the Oreo chocolate cookie crunch in a waffle cone and she loved it. It was way too sweet for me, extra decadent with chocolate ice cream and huge chunks of Oreo. But dang was the waffle cone good! So delicate and flaky, yet it held up well while she enjoyed the ice cream.
I did see someone get iced coffee, but can't comment as we stopped at Outpost Coffee just up the road for coffee beforehand.
Overall this quaint little ice cream shop is worth the stop and the perfect treat on...
Read moreWhat a magical place! Been so excited to come get this ice cream⌠Just heard the amazing things about the Kona coffee ice cream and the macadamia nut vanilla ice cream. I mean, when you come to know why, what more do you do besides stuff your face with a local delicacies? We came here on a weekday afternoon, there was only one person working there, and she was as sweet as a button. Her forearms are nice and muscular, meaning that she working really hard to scoop the biggest scoops of ice cream ever! She did not disappoint and she did it with such a sweet smile. We had the Lava Tube, which was two scoops of macadamia nut ice cream covered with macadamia nuts, whip cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and some chocolate chip waffle cone adorned with a sour candy rainbow, and that was just so delicious and simply sinful. We also ordered a warm waffle cone with two scoops of ice cream: Kona coffee ice cream and a macadamia nut scoop. We paid, tipped her well, and ran out of the store with our goods, giddy as if we were running out on our last day of school. Thank you Hawaii, aloha and...
