Gourmet House Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Kearney

Not sure if the waitress was new but the entire experience was awkward. Found a black substance floating in my water then found a hair in our food. The waitress spoke broken English to the point of not understanding. Also she came over several times and didn't say anything just stood there, it was awkward. When we told them about the hair the waitress shouted acrossed the room in another language drawing a bunch unwanted attention to is. Then when it came to the bill, they did take some off for the hair, but when we didn't tip the waitress proceeded to tell is that they didn't charge gratuity. Tips are earned, if you do ok then we usually tip well. After that she looked really upset and didn't speak. Won't be going back...

Place is phenomenal with high-quality sushi. I'm new to Nebraska from the beach areas of Southern California, so... I've been to ALOT of high-end, high-priced sushi restaurants. This has to be the new favorite place for I and my fiancée and doesn't have the "high-priced" part. Also, the service was awesome. He didn't want me to say his name and he just be humble about it, referring to only the service in general. However, our server Rudy... I don't know if he's up for a raise but to whoever owns the business, he deserves it. Thank...

A wonderful restaurant with delicious food and great prices! We got the vegetable tempura with rice and spring rolls. As a vegetarian I believe this is the best vegetarian meal I have had dining out. The tempura was amazing and the sticky rice was cooked perfectly. The spring rolls were nice and crispy too. Great service and easy to order for take out. I would highly recommend Gormet House Japanese Cuisine. Please try them out and support them during these hard times. We need to help our local restaurants now...
