I generally only write reviews for 5 star experiences, but this was bad enough we feel we ought to say something, especially since I expected the hotel to be fine based on other reviews. To be fair, the staff was nice and the hotel is nicely located and reasonably quiet. Also nice was that our room was on the second floor, but we had only half a flight of stairs to climb : the first floor rooms are partly in the ground, which means they are a half flight of stairs down (or a ramp).
OK, the biggest thing that was bad about our room was that one ENTIRE wall AND the ceiling there was covered with lines and splashes of yellow nastiness, very large splashes up the whole wall. Maybe someone took a couple gallons of orange juice, shook them up, and sprayed them all over the wall. We didn't notice it until we had already unpacked and then opened the curtain. Very nicely I alerted the front desk staff to it, saying that they really shouldn't rent the room again until it had been painted ... giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the maid just hadn't noticed if the curtain was closed (doubtful, though). If that was their only remaining dog-friendly room they should have told us they were all booked so we went somewhere else. Once we noticed it, it made us cringe to touch anything in the room.
In addition, all of the towels were seriously and noticeably GREY, perhaps they didn't believe in bleach. We've never seen grey towels in a hotel before. The carpet was noticeably dirty. The bathroom tiles and the tub were cracked. All-in-all, this was a nasty, grotty room. We expected better...
Read moreBy far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Not clean at all. Hallways are not welcoming, meaning stains lead you to your door. When in the room, I pulled back the sheets and found a frickin toenail... a freakin toenail! As I pulled the sheets back further, there was a bloody stain, how did the maid miss this! Needless to say, I pulled the sheets and blankets off and slept on the mattress cover. In the morning, I requested that the front desk have the maids give us some fresh sheets. In the morning, I laid the sheet on the bed with the obvious blood stain on top so the maid would switch the sheets. We came back at 10am to the sheet put back on the bed! The bed looked like it was made by a toddler and I immediately went to the front desk to complain to the boy that was there. I told him specifically about the blood stain and the toenail and He apologized and said he would have the maids go back and give me clean sheets and blankets. I thought the situation would be taken care of but when we got back at 6pm, the bloody sheets were still on there. I went down and complained to the young lady right in front of another potential customer about the whole situation that I had been dealing with since the night before. He of course heard it and walked out telling her he would not be staying after he heard the explanation that the front desk gave me. The front desk explained to me that the hotel policy is not to change the sheets with new customers unless they ask for fresh sheets! They only change the sheets twice a...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS. After being turned away from the AmericInn down the street, when we made a reservation 2 months prior, we were directed by the Wyndham Hotels to this Super 8, we had to reach out to them since the staff from the AmericInn were no help in finding an alternative. After driving 10 hours and being turned away by our reserved hotel this was the only option. Not only was it extremely over priced at $185 for one night, but the accommodations were not up to expectations. We were greeted by an extremely impersonal front desk staff who we then walked our 2 dogs by and headed to our room. The shower wasn’t finished and the comforter wasn’t fresh. The room had a musky smell and the surrounding neighbors made us feel uncomfortable. A couple hours in we were abruptly confronted by the hotel staff stating we owed more money for the pet fee and there are going to be criminal charges if not paid. We then felt extremely uncomfortable, and even pulled up the email confirmation showing payment and that there was no pet fee to be paid. We decided to reach out to the Wyndham customer service and they suggested we leave and dispute the charge at our credit card company. Not even an apology for the service we received or the conditions and inconvenience that came with it. It made for an overall extremely stressful trip. Do not recommend any of the Wyndham Hotels as their customer service is extremely poor, heaven forbid...
