Pizza Shoppe — Restaurant in Kearney

In town for a funeral, so already our time in Kearney isn't on the best note, however, as a unofficial professional pizza eater I was pleased to see a non chain (I think) pizza place near the hotel. As we walked in to the very narrow entrance a sign greets us; PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED. So my family of seven waits In the doorway, to be seated. Another customer is leaving and has to scootch past and through my family, pretty awkward. Then another customer comes in for a carryout order, has to maneuver his way through my obstacle course of children, somehow even after being seen we were never actually greeted. In fact, when we came in I feel like it was a scene from an old western where the music stops and everyone turns to look at the out of towner that blew into their saloon. So, we never get greeted, its starting to get really awkward so we just turn around and leave. Bummer.

The least they could have done was...

Traveling from Minnesota. Place seemed nice until we sat down and ordered our food. Waiter never returned to our table at all entire night. Flagged down another waitress (who appeared to be management and was literally checking the table in front of ours and behind ours but kept skipping ours) to see where our cheese bread was after 45 minutes. Apparently our ticket order wasn’t put up by the oven so it was given to the table behind us. The lady gave us crackers to munch on as it was almost 8pm and kids were hungry. Our food finally came out and the guy who brought us the food had to fill out drinks. Again never saw our waiter the entire time. Had to then flag someone down to get the bill as again no one can to our table. Kids never got their free cookies. Poor service, especially when they knew we had been traveling all day/night and to not even see if we needed anything! Totally...

We called in advance and reserved the party room. We called a second time, about five days before the reservation date, and place our pizza order so it would be ready at noon, as we had out of town family of nine who needed to head back home at 1:00 as they had a commitment at home. Upon arriving at noon, I was advised they were unaware of our reservation and pizza order. They checked their folder and found our reservation along with our pizza order and said they would start the pizza immediately. The first pizza came out at 12:50, with the other pizzas coming out in about four to five minute increments. Needless to say, nine family members failed to get much to eat, with one not getting anything to eat, and that was with delaying their departure by about ten minutes.
