SmallCakes Cupcakery — Restaurant in Kearney

Took my son in for his sixth birthday so he could pick out a cupcake so we could celebrate tonight before his party, while my wife was ordering the cupcakes my son was looking at the cakes on the round table that they have eye level to children, without a warning or a comment to my wife, the employee yells at my child “DONT TOUCH THAT FROSTING ON THAT CAKE”. I understand the cakes aren’t out to touch, and they take skill and a special craft to make (even though they’re covered in finger prints and smudges already) but yelling at a child? Maybe next time the employee can use a nicer voice when talking to children. This is the third time, and the last time going to small cakes. The first time was great, the second time we were rushed to make a decision and the employee seemed annoyed at how long it was taking to make a final choice for a birthday cake. Love the ladies here and the work they do!! My kids always have big cakes when they turn certain ages, so with my youngest turning 5 we needed a BIG BEAUTIFUL cake!! They did more then just deliver!! We order a 3 tier marble(bottom 2 tiers)and white(top tier) that was Gabby Doll House themed!! The lovely ladies found a picture and captured it perfectly!! Special sprinkles on each tier along with a white chocolate drip decorated the brightly colored delicious buttercream frosted cake!! It was the talk of the party along with my beautiful baby girl!! We love small cakes and will order from them in the future! P.s. to ensure everything was perfect the girls delivered the cake an hour away from Kearney, left their cake stand to make sure tiny hands didn't touch it and to make sure I didn't drop it lol!! But that's pretty darn amazing...

Small cakes is so accommodating and friendly! They have made such special birthday cakes for me! The never say no, f you ask for something. One time I called every bakery in Kearney to get gluten-free cupcakes for a friend for her birthday it was super last minute cause I didn’t know she was gluten free and they did it for us & they were wonderful and I have been going every since.
