From the moment you walk into Kami Koi Sushi Fusion in West Kendall, you feel the energy. The ambiance is vibrant and stylish, with a modern design that blends Japanese-fusion flair with Miami edge. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a while dim lighting, upbeat music, and a lively crowd create the perfect setting for a fun night out.
We started with the Q Piña cocktail pineapple, cinnamon, and lime vodka—it was the perfect tropical refresh to kick off the evening. Then came the tuna tataki, which was delicate and flavorful, and their signature Kami Koi leche de tigre, served with crispy fried fish on top. It’s bold, citrusy, and packed with texture a standout dish.
Next up: cocktails round two. The Old Fashioned was executed beautifully smooth, balanced, and strong in the best way. The grilled octopus was tender and juicy, and the Volcano Roll was an entire experience on its own. They flamed it tableside, and the smokiness added such depth to the flavor. So fun to watch and even better to eat.
The real surprise of the night was the Gorgonzola Mignon a tender Angus filet topped with creamy gorgonzola cheese and their signature chicha morada reduction. The sweet-savory balance was absolutely delicious.
To end, we had the Asu Mare cocktail refreshing, a little tangy, and the perfect finish to an amazing meal.
The staff made the experience even better super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Service was quick, but never rushed. You can tell they care about the details.
Overall, Kami Koi is more than just a sushi spot it’s a full-on dining experience. From creative dishes to killer drinks and top-tier service, this place is a must-visit in West Kendall. Highly recommend it for date night, dinner with friends, or anyone who loves bold flavors and a...
Read moreVery cool Japanese/Peruvian restaurant! I really enjoyed my experience here. Great service and sexy, romantic, cool atmosphere! I first saw it after a workout at L.A. Fitness next door, and I knew I wanted to try this place out. I'm glad I did! Had the Teriyaki Salmon, and loved the presentation and taste, just could've been hotter the first time, but they were gracious enough to heat it up without cooking it past medium which is how I ordered it after our very cool, hospitable waitress Daniella asked how I wanted it cooked. The Passion Fruit Mojito was OMG good! The Chicken Fried Rice was ok and similarly needed to be hotter, and it felt like it needed a bolder flavor. For the Ceviche and Sushi/Sashimi, wish they offered Mahi or Corvina at an upcharge as another option to Swai, maybe even add this to their fish menu options as a fillet. The only grilled fish option was the very tasty Salmon Teriyaki I had. Being a music guy, the soft Rock background music playing was just ok and didn't complement the decor and vibe of this sexy, cool restaurant. It was a Friday night, and there was a talented female vocalist, Kety Muñoz who was very entertaining. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back again to repeat on the...
Read moreI was craving sushi, and I took one of my clients here to eat while visiting the plaza this is in. I was craving spicy tuna rolls, which unfortunately they do not have as part of the menu and while I was disappointed and trying to figure out what other alternative to choose from, the owner came up to us and introduced himself. He was friendly and very welcoming- actually their entire staff was. I mentioned what I really wanted- and while it was not on the menu- he told me he could prepare an alternative “spicy” tuna- so of course I appreciated it— it was good (not quite like the traditional—but the effort to accommodate my palette despite not being on the menu did not go unnoticed). He provided us a tiguere de leche ceviche on the house- which was amazing. This was the first time I ever tried this dish- and I left craving for more! The piña colada was also very delicious. My client enjoyed her food as well. The ambiance was chilled, nice background music, very clean establishment and quick service. While, I do not live in the area, I will definitely come back next time I’m close-by. So if you like Peruvian food with a dash of Japanese infusion- I will strongly recommend this place. It’s also a great place to check listen ro...
