This old clock was a gift to my parents from my great uncle, an antiques dealer, in the early 1960’s. He told them that it has a rosewood case and is valuable. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’ve loved this clock since I was a kid. My parents gave it to me about 40 years ago, and it always kept good time. The calendar was a little fast, but other than that it ran well. Until about 6 weeks ago. Somehow I carelessly knocked it off the wall. It stopped dead. I was heartbroken. I really had no idea who to turn to for clock repairs. I didn’t even know if it would be possible to fix it. So I Googled “clock repair” and Kenilworth Jewelers popped up. The reviews were glowing, I was impressed. I called and they agreed to look at the clock. When I got to the shop Danny opened it up and started checking it out. He obviously was well skilled and knew immediately what needed to be done. He told me he’d need 4-5 weeks to repair it. He called me this past Monday, after 4 1/2 weeks, to tell me it was ready for pickup. We got it today, and it has been merrily tick-tocking for the past 4 hours. I had missed that sound so much, I’m elated to have it back! I highly recommend Kenilworth Jewelers. They are honest, knowledgeable and friendly. And their work comes a one year warranty! It’s so nice to deal with people who are willing to stand by their work. I knew when I left the clock with them that it was in good hands. I was so right. I bought my antique grandfather clock many years ago when I was young…it has kept my time through all the good and bad years…I know it intimately. I have treated it well and have had it serviced regularly…it always ran slightly fast, but that was okay…it’s chime was in tune with my heart….and was dependable. KENILWORTH JEWELERS CAME YESTERDAY TO REATTACH ITS PENDALUM…which I had removed to move the clock..a minor action…my eyes and hands at age 86 are not steady … They quoted $175 to come out to Springfield…and, if it was just the reattach ent, that would cover it. They arrived promptly, father and son….and immediately said $350, the clock needed oil..I said all I wanted was for them to do what they came out to do..the price went down to $250…so I reluctantly agreed, even though the clock had been fully serviced recently and was running like a charm….so they oiled it, reattached the pendalum, diddled around total for no more than 15-minutes and left with the clock running. ONE HOUR LATER THE CLOCK STOPPED!…I called them and they said the now clock NEEDED TO BE SERVICED…I would have to pay THEM TO DO THAT…(only God knows how much)…they refused to come back…I HAD PAID THEM by check a Total of $266….they are SCAMMERS THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE...

My Dad loved this clock and I have fond memories of him winding it every Saturday - no one else would think of touching it. It’s been the heart of my home in Cranford for over 30 years. It was still functioning but only for 1-2 days at a time. Danny let us know it may take a few months to get back. We got our clock back in less than a month and it’s running like a charm again. Six days running so far and hasn’t needed winding yet! Seems we’re back in mint condition. The first time we brought it to Kenilworth Jewelers was in 2006 for an overhaul - that’s 17 years until it needed servicing again! That time, Danny delivered it to our home and hung it for us so it would operate properly. It still hangs in the same spot to this day. Always a pleasure to deal with Danny!
