Some of the best Central American Food in Kenner! I know that is a big statement, but this place is located in the original location of the legendary Chilangos Restaurant, so it has big boots to fill, and it delivers! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and they play praise and worship music in Spanish on their TV screens. Very peaceful. The star of their menu is the parrillada - grilled steak, chicken, pork chop, shrimp, smoked sausage, beans, cabbage salad, pico de gallo, and plantain slices. Such a feast - come hungry!! They have traditional mexican street tacos with onions, cilantro, and your choice of meat, and some of the best birria tacos - pan fried and stuffed with beef and cheese, with a side au jus for dipping. They have traditional pupusas - masa cakes stuffed with beans, cheese, and even chicharron (pork cracklins) - YUM!! They also have traditional honduran tacos, enchiladas, and tamales. Different from mexican style but utterly delicious. Also a must try side dish, is platano maduro - stuffed sweet plantain with refried red beans, crema, and cheese. For breakfast, try the baleadas - large flour tortilla stuffed with eggs, crema, avocado, beans, and meat of your choice. They also offer a traditional breakfast with eggs, avocado, cheese, beans, tortilla, and sweet plantains. Their tortillas are homemade, and the flour tortillas are about 12" across, and rival homemade pita and ethiopian sponge bread. Some of the best tortillas I have ever had!! Be sure to try their traditional horchata drink - rice milk and cinnamon, and their fresh juice choices like mango and...

Our bill came to $100.84, my husband went ahead and just paid what he saw on the bill however he did question why it was so expensive hence we had 3 kids who ate small plates and not full entrees. He asked me if I had cash for the tip so I went ahead and placed it on the table, when I get to the car I see they added and 18% gratuity to the bill and didn’t even tell us. Their receipt states “18% gratuity will be added on parties of 8 or more” I called the restaurant to ask why they added gratuity when we were a party of 5? The girl on the phone said, “we add it to 4 or more and we gave you a receipt” hence to say we felt robbed and tricked. Left an almost $30 tip....
Read moreI usually go to a place next door but tried El Rinconcito instead and glad I did Probably the best Honduran breakfast I've had. I especially appreciated that that ran the marinated Flank steak (carne asada) thru a tenderizer before cooking it. Flank is loaded with flavor but can be tough. Real Tortillas and fast attentive services will have me coming back to try other items on the menu that looked...
