Great food, even with the new location freshly open and ABSOLUTELY SLAMMED which is great to see in West Cobb in any restaurant. But one thing that absolutely has to stop is the "TIP US UP FRONT" mindset. We just walked in, placed an order and now we get to type in a tip % or value on the screen?! How are we going to determine the speed and accuracy of the food order, the timeliness of the food being delivered to our table, the refills on ... nevermind this is a self serve drink restaurant... OK well maybe the cleanliness of the table or the bathroom, we haven't seen any of this yet. This is a cash-grab mentality that none of you would appreciate if you were in the customer's shoes. STOP DOING THIS. Maybe you are trying to attract more international customers that don't tip, it is not really clear.
Back to the food: Otherwise the people were nice, the establishment did seem to be quite clean and regularly was "tidied up". You may want to know that no alcohol can be sold here until January 2025 (not sure of the exact date) but that is important for a lot of folks that want to go have beer/wine with their BBQ. We had a fried catfish with onion rings. brisket sandwich and sprite. We gave a decent tip anyway because we are nice people.
This was pointed out to be more of a "Fast Casual" restaurant to us, which makes sense because it also has 2 drive-thru lanes. So If you want a sit-down experience for longer with a server that waits on you and deserves the tip, visit the location in East Cobb. If you are in a rush, this is a pretty quick spot to visit for a meal and you can be...
Read moreThe guy behind the bar (tall with the goatee) was great. Super friendly, welcoming, as I waited for the remainder of my group to come for dinner. After that, everything was as rated, okay. The main thing I'll say is the young lady behind the counter taking the order could really, really use some work on her critical thinking skills. I am on the carnivore diet and only eat meat. Sounds perfect for a BBQ spot, right? She just could not grasp the concept that I only wanted to order meat. I know you can order meat by the pound, which I would have happily done, but it was as though because that was not on the menu board above her, she couldn't comprehend what I was saying. I tried to explain it several ways, but still nothing. Finally, I said, "Yes, just give the brisket sandwich with no bun, sauce, or side." "But it comes with a side," she responds. Yes, yes, I know that, but I don't want a side. "But it comes with one..." You know how this went. Poor thing. Also, I believe the no-side debacle was far too much for her, and therefore, the additional no sauce request went miles beyond our ability to process. Brisket was okay, but again, I couldn't really eat it as it was covered in sauce. She wasn't rude. She wasn't snappy. She was just... well... let's just say I'd ask my aunt to add her to the...
Read moreWe've been waiting for Jim 'N Nick's to open in the old Chili's location. It opened on Wednesday and we decided to give it a try, this evening.
As expected there was a large crowd. That's expected for a new restaurant and on a Friday night. But even while waiting, there were hostesses available to answer questions and the wait was efficient and the staff was welcoming.
The quick-moving line, helpful hostesses, and friendly team set the tone for a positive visit. We chose—catfish and the Pulled Chicken BBQ Sandwich. They hit the mark, and the fresh sides and addictive cheese muffins really elevate the experience. The fact that there were no hiccups, especially in a brand-new restaurant, speaks volumes about their preparation and attention to detail. I have to recognize that every person that was working the restaurant was kind and attentive. They really took things to the next level.
I look forward to trying some of the specialty cocktails, once the liquor license kicks in. Jim 'N Nick’s West Cobb is off to a great start. I can easily see making this a...
