Cafe Emís — Restaurant in Kennett Square

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly. I approached the register, unsure of what to get, the barista handed me a detailed menu, offered some recommendations, and answered all my questions. I ended up ordering a frozen mocha, similar to a Starbucks frappuccino but better, and a giant chocolate croissant with a Nutella like filling. Within 5 to 10 minutes, my order was hand delivered to my seat, and both items were delicious. The staff later checked in on me to make sure everything was good and even picked up my plate, which I appreciated.

The cafe has warm lighting, a welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable seats, making it ideal for getting work done. There were two clean bathrooms, and the barista also showed me the Wi-Fi password, which was fast and perfect for working on my laptop. The temperature inside was just right, not too hot or cold, even in Pennsylvania’s November.

As someone who does not usually visit coffee shops, I was very impressed. The service was impeccable and definitely better than a place like Starbucks, which makes you appreciate supporting local coffee shops. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely stop by again to try more of their food menu, not just the drinks...

The CROWN JEWEL of Kennett Square, save your footsteps and go directly to this extremely well run business, these folks are bringing it. Cheer, courtesy, consideration, and many choices of food for all times of day, very fine morning coffee too!!! Immaculate, bright and well appointed dine-in experience! There should be one of these shops in every town. Thank you GFG for making my trip to Longwood Gardens especially memorable. Your hospitality and outstanding offerings are so appreciated. Real food, real people. If you want a gift, go to a gift shop. If you want a meal in Kennett Square or damn good hot cup of coffee, go straight to GFG! They are the pro's, ready, willing and able to take good care of you!!! Sit down and relax! There's plenty of room. There is lots of grab and go food as well. But the best part is, it is chock full of energetic, courteous staff ready to take great care of you! The Greek pastry will knock...

Just visiting the area from 5 hours away, we were delighted to find many interesting eating establishments, Greek from Greece, being our choice. We're glad we stopped for coffee and a little treat.

The restaurant is beautiful. The staff delightfully attentive and accommodating. The owner, I want to mention, came from the kitchen at one point carrying a truly seductive pan of richly-scented, roasted vegetables that looked and smelled divine for upcoming lunches. The food all looked marvelous.

However, our initial choice for something to have with our coffee was a tiny bit disappointing. The owner was quick to replace it with suggestions for us which were delicious.

Please don't miss this gem of an establishment that really reflects how much the owners and staff sincerely care, in all ways. Plus it's fun to sit outside and people watch in this...
