I'll admit it was an incredibly toasty afternoon, the kind that makes a ton of people crave ice cream. But the minute I saw the crowd outside this place licking their cones (and a line waiting to order), I knew this establishment was legitimately popular regardless of the weather. My cousin chums and I stopped by here for a palate cleanser mid-afternoon this past Saturday, at their fervent recommendation. This was primarily pitched to me as "Mexican ice cream," which immediately made me think of churros. That particular flavor (disclaimer - I have no idea if anyone has invented that yet, but the odds favor it) wasn't on the premises, but there WERE a handful of more exotic options to choose from, including avocado and corn.

The line to get in was sort of perfect in that it was long enough to demonstrate that this place was hopping, but not long enough where you had to wait a significant amount of time - it was a well-oiled machine; it took probably two minutes to get to the counter to order. The fellow at the counter was efficient and kept it moving. My only nitpick (and it's barely one) was that because of the way the counter display and line is set up, you can't get a visual on all of the potential flavors until you're literally right at the spot where you order. I like to get my peepers on the ice cream before I make my selection, but that could be a minority opinion, and you absolutely have the ability to peruse the menu on the wall while you wait as well.

I DID consider an edgy flavor but ultimately wussed out and got the Kit-Kat ice cream. It was delicious and hit the spot. In hindsight, I would have liked to have at least sampled avocado (one cousin chum got that and reported it as "creamy," which...pretty much sounds like dictionary definition avocado), but it's hard to argue that I made the wrong choice. We ate them outside in basically a furnace, and the ice cream held up surprisingly well - it was solid/frozen without being freezer-burned and icy.

Admittedly it's hard to go wrong with almost any ice cream establishment, but this one is pretty great. Without getting political, there's a pretty prominent picture of Joe Biden on the wall sampling the wares as well. I'm not sure there's any politician whose ice cream recommendations would sway me (though something tells me William Howard Taft would have known his way around an ice cream cone), but that at least goes to show that this place is renowned enough that it warranted a campaign stop. Strong recommend if you're in the area, toasty...

I visited Kennet Square this summer to visit Longwood Gardens. I invited my best friend's family to join us because we enjoyed the gardens and the town so much in 2023. After Longwood Gardens we planned to stop for ice cream with our little girls. We visited with 4 adults and 5 little girls between us. They were all excited for ice cream as kids usually are. My husband was excited to try the unique flavors before making a final decision. After a few samples he was told he's only supposed to have 1 sample but theyll allow 1 more. The servers were stoic and stone-faced with us and the woman who rang us up was short with us and her general demeanor made us feel unwelcomed. It's always strange to give money to someone who acts like they'd prefer you leave. I didn't mention this outloud but my husband and the couple we were with all Commented that the staff was unfriendly to us. The ice cream is tasty but was hard to enjoy and I felt bad bringing my friend and her kids here to be treated in a way that made us feel unwelcomed. I'll find ice cream elsewhere when we return to...

I stopped in here yesterday for the first time while down in Kennett Square with my brother and nephew. This is an excellent little family run shop that makes all of it's own ice cream.

The menu is unique full of original ice cream flavors. The first two on the menu are Corn and Avacado flavors. "I joked to my brother, you have to be kidding me?" He said "Nope, and the corn flavored one is excellent!"

Other original flavors include Mamey, Cantalope, Cornberry, Black Cherry and Egnoog to name a few. I wasn't ready to take the plunge though and settled on peanut butter ice cream with chocolate fudge in it. Which was also outstanding BTW.

I'm going to be in town a few more days and am going to try and get back here for another taste before I head back home. La Michoacana is a gem and an...

This place has SO MANY ice cream flavors. I wanted something refreshing so I went with passion fruit water ice and it was delicious! My boyfriend got lime & cotton candy and he loved it (we even came back a second time since we were in the area over the weekend). I had a sample of their corn ice cream and it tasted good too! Will definitely come back. The people there were friendly (especially a man who I think was the owner). There’s no parking at the location but there’s a public library across the street that has parking so that was convenient! They also had a few tables so you can eat outside. Yo soy mexicana y la verdad me orgullese de ver un negocio como este. Siempre me gusta apoyar y visitar lugares mexicanos. Vivo cerca de varios negocios de helados y este es uno de los mejores 😋
