Patisserie Lola — Restaurant in Kennett Square

We hired Patisserie Lola for our wedding cake which was a millefoglie, an Italian version of the French millefeuille. I was so happy to find an authentic French patisserie who would be able to accomodate my order as I am French myself. And I can honestly tell you this is the best and most authentic French patisserie I've found in the US so far. Kallista has pastries from different regions of France (kouign amann, macarons, canelés among other things) and they're all incredible, beautiful and delicious!!! Finding a baker to bake a non traditional wedding cake in the US can be a little hard. I found Patisserie Lola thanks to my wedding venue's instagram, as she had baked a cake for a couple who had their wedding there- and I was so glad I found her. She was the only baker I inquired because I knew straight away I wanted her because I was so impressed with her work. Kallista kindly baked our cake even though she was going to a friend's wedding that same weekend. We are so grateful for her work and all of our guests were very impressed as well! Macarons are good, but the croissants aren't really true French style like some other bakeries in the area (they seem to be whole grain flour, and somewhat overdone / extremely dark and crispy, the almond ones cut in half with a wet filling inside - not truly bad, but honestly I prefer even the ones at grocery stores over these).

Prices are also much higher than you'll find on the Main Line. With tip as prompted by the payment system, it was about $17 for two croissants and a macaron. At my favorite bakery a couple of towns away, I could have gotten half a dozen true French style...

Absolutely exceptional!! We moved to Kennett about 2 years ago and enjoyed looking for treasures. Patisserie Lola is the best treasure we could’ve ever stumbled upon! They offer fresh baked goods that will quickly sell out - due to the quality and effort that goes into each item. They have limited hours which can be troublesome when you start craving the amazing goods mid week 😅 During holidays, they have preorders which have quickly become traditions for Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, and the like. I highly recommend but also don’t go and leave more deliciousness...
