For service, honesty and fair pricing, it doesn't get any better than this Mom and Pop appliance repair shop! E&H& Son Appliances is now our forever go-to place for appliance repair.
Our propane gas oven would no turn off after our chicken dinner was cooked. Egads! We called the first place given to us by Frigidaire's 800-number robot, Mr. Appliance, but they couldn't come out that night so we called our propane service, Taylor Oil and Propane. The owner called us back and, over the phone and, at no cost, showed us how to turn off the propane tank. Thank you Taylor!
The next day, we ate the cost of a service call by Mr. Appliance. The tech spoke so fast he may have a future as an auctioneer. Then he quoted us a repair estimate so high it led me to search for a new gas range, which was still too much for us. Then I read Mr. Appliance's reviews, which confirmed my worst suspicions; I admonished myself for not doing that first. Next, I called a long-term area realtor who recommended E&H. We went to their shop in downtown Kennett Square (PA) and explained the problem and had a nice chat with Ed and Helen. They came out the following week and repaired our range for HALF the amount quoted us by Mr. Appliance! Half! Ed and his son were in and out in 20 minutes and did a great job!
No robot called me later to ask how we liked their service. No e-mail came to ask me to complete a survey. Just good old-fashioned service. When the robots called from Mr. Appliance, I was (ahem!) honest with my review, followed by a call to Frigidaire customer service to tell them they should do a better job vetting their service call vendors.
Stick with the mom and pops. And go to E&H&Son for your appliance repair needs. They also sell appliances and should we need one in the future, I trust them to take care of us....

We have a fairly recent model Kitchenaid side-by-side fridge which is about 4-5 years old and has been working very well until last week. It began to rapidly cycle the compressor on and off, however continued to keep the temperature at goal and function normally. I called E&H since I wanted to use someone local and they seemed friendly and helpful over the phone. Ed, from E&H came by to take a look and told us the problem was the power inverter which needed to be replaced. He came back and replaced it but then abruptly left without checking that the fridge was working (he said it would come on "after some time"). For half the night, the fridge was completely nonfunctional and then finally came on but now could not keep the temperature down, showed strange readouts on the displays and the ice dispenser stopped working as well. When we contacted Ed, he suggested that the fridge was working fine despite us repeatedly explaining that it was not. He was uninterested in trying to figure out what was going wrong and wanted to either leave things the same or put back the old part (neither of which would actually help us). Then, he and his staff began giving us a hard time since we were not available exactly at the hours they preferred to come by (we both work full time - what a crime!). Finally, after he did come back and put back our old inverter, he spoke very rudely to my wife and accused her of making up problems with the fridge!
For both his incompetency in diagnosis/repairs and completely unprofessional behavior to my family, I would never trust this guy in my home again. We are quiet and understanding people who don't like to raise a fuss about things in general. Life is too short to waste on unpleasant...
Read moreThis place isn't even worth one star... they came in about few months ago to fix our fridge ( that still to this day isn't fixed ). Anyways they called us to get the money and we said can we give it to you next week due to my grandfather just passing away that day. They said okay and never called us back. It was my grandfathers bills not ours. Anyways today ( 3 months later) they came to my house banging on my door asking for there money, I asked if they could take card and they said no, i allowed them to know I didn't have cash on me to pay that bill, he said " haha well then when will I have my money " and I allowed him to know that he hasn't contacted us in months , and that I will give him the money just didn't have cash. He kept asking so I shut the door after I said I would bring it up today. He simply went to the bottom of my driveway and spoke to another person living in the house, . She asked him for the original receipt and stated we'll bring you the money cash, and he just wrote one up real quick and called her a f*ing air head, and said he was going to come into my house and take the part back, he started walking up the hill , and then stopped and called the cops on us. (Which we got in no trouble for because we did nothing wrong) ..After we stated 100 times we were bring the money today. So basically would never recommended in a billion years unless you want someone to curse you out, call the cops, and basically say there coming into your home to remove a part that we didn't even need.... not good customer service, not good at their job overal worst expierence, I rather pay 1000 of dollars then to see these people...
