Don’t take the swimming classes here it’s not worth it the money you pay and the lady who’s personal in charge there treats herself is manager and spoke rude and not care the member …here is my experience we are new this area and we need to enroll for my son in swimming classes ,when we enrolled the swimming lessons they said we need to evaluate his levels and you can join immediately once he get which level because that day is the first day of the lessons started we said ok if we unable to make that day lessons because he’s not tested for his level they said when you pay for lessons it’ll prorated for that class and we pay the membership fee because to take his evaluation he should be a member that was they told me(actually not the other Ymca’s like that because non members also enrolled the classes but you will pay little bit extra or high amount of fee unfortunately other Ymca classes is not available until next November )we took the membership and we asks where we need to take the test because we’re new we ask them to show the pool and the classes spots they’re not walk with us to introduced for instructors and pool and they just say go straight see the pool and see the instructors asks to evaluate his level(the front desk isn’t busy and they are two three people at the service desk)they are two pools are there and they didn’t told the instructors name also…this isn’t the way you treated your new members…(not friendly not warm welcoming way and if your not white they treated you differently I feels that because I am not white I feel clearly see the race difference) we find the pool by asking there for regular members like us there and find the tutors and take the evaluation for his level and enrolled him into the swimming classes after the enrollment they said ,now 20 minutes late for his class for today so start for next class onwards and even they didn’t prorated that amount also what they told previously at the time of joining and the next class my kid is sick he has the temperature and running nose too so I call them in advanced and told he’s unable to attend the class then the person in charge spoke very rudely literally shouting in phone when I ask why your not any make up tokens because we informed early of his absence, the other Ymca make that why can’t here? The person In charge literally shouting in phone and giving answer very rudely we’re not do like that here , maybe the other Ymca will do and try to say something about my asking or race ….lt hearts me and feels mistreated….this is my experience here I will stop my kids classes here and I never ever comes this place again I wish I can them zero or negative...
Read moreI adore the step classes, especially with Kim on Mondays!!! She is a wonderful person through and through and her energy and kindness reflects throughout her class!!! The exercise room is fabulous, and is conducive to our desire to put our complete energy and mind into follow the steps created by a top notch professional, Kim! I will come to every class, and I know that the aerobic exercise in Step class has been an answer to my health!!! My Doctor praises the positive cardiovascular effect it has had on my health, in lowering BP, and in keeping mind and body in good shape! I also appreciate so highly the Kennett area YMCA's attention to providing an excellent studio in which to have class. No need for excessive noise, and great room and area for athletic dance! (btw love the ballet bars!! as a former professional dancer, I truly appreciate the opportunity to stretch out! :D) Many thanks to your programs with a special...
Read moreIt's a great facility with programs for almost everyone. The pool and dry/wet sauna are a definite during every visit. I love the cardio machines, and their are resistance exercises for different types of members. They have a circuit room that is usually not busy, and the free weight area can get a little busy during peak hours. I still don't find myself waiting on someone very often. I've taken a few fitness classes, including yoga, which I loved. This brings me to the staff. No knock to any other facility, but I think this staff is top-notch. All of the trainers and instructors are very knowledgeable and convey things in a way that is easy to understand. I see all levels of fitness there, and anyone who is looking to get started after a long hiatus should give this YMCA strong consideration. They have daycare and programs for kids, too. They all look like...
