If you are a Victory fan, go to Downington! The facilities are much better and there is actually parking, as well as attentive service. Came here for the first time for emo bingo brunch a few Sundays ago and it was an absolute disaster. I tried to make a reservation and called the host stand a few days prior and the hostess didn’t understand the word emo and told me I didn’t need a reservation nor did she bother to ask if we wanted one. When we arrived for the event, we couldn’t find parking and I called the host stand and no one answered. We eventually found a spot across the street and went in to see two hostesses sitting down chatting. I’ve never been to a restaurant that allows their hostesses to sit while directly addressing customers. We said we were there for emo brunch and they told us we would have to wait or could find a seat in the bar area. They didn’t give us a special emo brunch menu and we ended up having to order off of someone else’s. They didn’t stand up to direct us to help find an available spot. It seemed like it was the first time they ran the event and there were some growing pains which is okay, the dj was nice, but the service was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I felt like I was back in Spain begging to be attended. Another group of girls was having the same problem at the bar and we helped each other order and get bingo cards, which they were short of. The bartenders wouldn’t look at us and I had to flag down a server for us to order. The server was very kind, but left a bad taste in my mouth that she was the only one working while other servers were literally skipping around the restaurant arm in arm. A front of house manager should have been walking around apologizing for the chaos. The food was okay. It’s a shame because we were so excited for the event. Reservations should have been required to better organize the event and it would have been more fun to make our own bingo cards. I’ve worked in restaurants before and this was some gen z next level apathy. Will never return to...
Read moreWe got an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. It was taken away before we had finished it, but the server apologized and said we would get some more with our dinner to make up for it so that was handled very well and we were okay.
Also, a party of eight and a party of five were seated after us and their orders were taken after ours, but their food arrived first.
In fact, our food never arrived. After two hours of waiting we had to go. So we paid full price for the partially eaten appetizer, we got no apology or explanation for the missing dinners and we left feeling hungry, disappointed and undervalued as customers.
EDIT: Since you've asked for an email response, I realized I should have stated right away publicly that we went on the night of the terrible storms when most homes and businesses were without power. The restaurant's dining room filled up in minutes and the whole place was crazy busy.
That was the ONLY reason we waited 2 full hours. We would have waited longer that evening, but then the restaurant lost power and our hopes of ever seeing our meal vanished. It was starting to get dark outside and the roads had been blocked by downed power poles and trees making it difficult to navigate home So we finally had to just go. Throughout the whole ordeal, we stayed kind and respectful to our server, understanding the burden of having to deal with so many hungry, frustrated people. We were just not thrilled with how we were treated in the end. If you still want to discuss this further via email,...
Read moreOh Victory, why did you have to mess with a good thing? Victory used to be my go-to place, whether for date night with my husband, a night out with friends, or for a quick family dinner. Victory was a trifecta, the food, beer, and atmosphere were always winners. All of that changed when Victory hired a new chef and changed the menu. Gone are not only my favorite dishes (in particular the queso fundido), but also the quality of the food. The burgers are now terrible, particularly the kids' burgers. They used to mimic the smash burgers offered on Tuesday nights, now they are tiny fake grilled patties that don't even fill out the bun. And the new bun is awful, please bring back the potato rolls instead of the shiny thing that you are now using. The fries are atrocious now, they're thicker in general and lacking everything good about them that used to make us order buckets of them. The price point for the food is no longer worth it, and although I had plans for a couple of nights of there in the next three weeks, we will look to go elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if others start to do the same as we heard the tables at the two adjacent tables also complaining about their food. The beer, as always, is fantastic, but I can get fantastic Victory beer at other area establishments with fantastic food as well. I recommend you...
