What in the seriously delicious is going on here??? I was hungry after finishing up some business nearby, it was nearly dinner time, and I smell something in the air on my way to my car, so I follow my nose across the street to this nice new restaurant with amazing pictures of the food on the menu. The pictures are not a misprepresentation btw. Oh my gurd! It was hard to decide what to order, so I ordered the quesadillas in all 3 combinations, and the gordita with carnitas...which tasted a lot like an arepa...and it was super amazing! The ajus with the quesadillas was out of this world and the sides (grilled onions, etc.) and salsa...if you have any left over use it on your breakfast...it is soooo good. Their red salsa is bomb and brings the perfect amount of heat. Their salsa verde is amazeballs too. I've not had anything this good in this area in terms of south of the border cuisine. This knocked my socks off, and I lived in San Diego for several years. This place is worth a visit, but come hungry. Their portion sizes are solid. And be patient when it is busy, the food is worth it! Despite having a drive-thru...this food is not fast food. Just the dipping ajus...somebody has taken the time to collect the drippings from taking their time cooking the different meats that are fall apart tender. Oh, and this isn't first date food. You're gonna act a fool with sauce and salsa dripping all over while you act like you've been starving for weeks before the meal...you'll totally forget your manners and talk with your mouthful to your significant others whilst exclaiming it is sooo good telling them to try this with that, etc... you only eat this with people who already love you, and will forgive your lapse in manners as they...
Read moreJust to clarify, this was my first time here, so I had no idea what to expect, this was by far, the greatest Mexican food I've had for a long time! I went here with two friends, we ordered the Adobada Tacos Al Pastor, and two Chicken Quesadillas, the chicken Quesadillas did come with beans and rice. You can definitely substitute, for just rice or just beans if you'd like. About the food, all the vegetables and greens were fresh and definitely had flavor, the meat was amazing and so well seasoned, and the corn tortillas were so crisp and light, Loved it all, and they also have drinks here, and a salsa/dressing bar. And I honestly don't know why people were saying that the customer service is bad, the lady who took our order was so nice, (even though we only spoke English and can't speak Spanish at all) and then the same lady checked on our table twice, which was really nice. This place had around 17 people in it, (while we were there) but there was still room for us to dine in, and the atmosphere was nice. A little kid spilt their drink all over the floor and the employees did everything to clean it up, without being hesitant or rude. I was honestly surprised of how the other reviewers were talking about the customer service, I think the employees were really nice, and I will definitely be back! Amazing, I can't recommend this...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this place since the sign went up! Have to say we were overall quite pleased with the results. We spent about $80 for 5 people with leftovers for days.
Person #1 of course would be my 3yo son who ate almost an entire container of beans and rice and like 3 homemade tortillas!
We also ordered 3 birria tacos, which come street style each on 2 grilled tortillas with cilantro and onion. They were tasty but the meat was a bit dry. I had my first taco bite with nothing added just to taste it and ehh. However the consommé is absolutely stellar!! Tacos with the consommé and lime and grilled Serrano were bomb. I could just drink the consommé on its own. Next time I might get the ramen.
We also got the grilled pork in mixed cuts. The meat itself was dry on the outside as well but when we broke into it, suuuuper tasty.
We also got pork ribs which came in a red sauce and served with rice and beans. The red sauce was pleasantly/mildly hot.
My husband got mulitas but refused to share with anyone. They must have been pretty good!
One thing they should add to their online ordering menu is sides of rice and beans. Only a few entrees come with rice and beans and there’s no way to add them on with the online ordering. We had to order separately when...
