Visiting Golden Corral can be a good and great experience when it comes to food and service service is always very good when it comes to the employees. Also it can be very frustrating. Golden Corral's website for the Kenosha, WI location. The website is confusing for customers, and staff. The wrong: information, times; actually the entire site needs to be updated and corrected. When I/Others mention things to the manager she seems to be annoyed that she has to be more involved and hands on. The rest of the staff will do their job with a smile, and accommodate each customer. They go out of their way to personally deal with every issue fast with a smile; right away. They treat each customer the same, ever the rudest and most disrespectful customers and I would give them 5+ STARS. Although, my rating is based on the manager, her attitude. She basically shows no interest in any, and will walk away from many customers. You will get the feeling that she doesn't care, but then she does check and fix the issue very quickly. I asked her about the website; which she said was correct. So I waited until the cashier quickly cleared her line of about eight groups. The cashier and I a cashier who was very very courteous and went through the entire Golden Corral of Kenosha's website, and she agreed with me that not only was the website missing a lot of information; but there were lots of errors. The actual manager which I've interacted with each time I've been at Golden Corral is really really not a people person, and it seems her smile is forced. Twice once with a customer with broken English, after I understood his time. I asked a wonderful good server in Spanish "que este pollo" the server said "'si"? The food staff member immediately came out and placed labels on each unlabeled. The second incident was because young men told her that an item on their plates was cold. Delayed the young men, so one let me touch the rice, that he scooped off his plate, and it was like it was just taken out of the refrigerator. She finally brought out a thermometer, took the rice out. She didn't it very well she walked away had a staff member, and who was happy to replace the rice and took the two plates, with an apology. They said she ignored them. The two young Hispanic men were thankful that I intervened. When I got the manager attention she acted like I asked her to lick a toilet seat. If she would become a little more of a people person and take concerns very seriously I think she, as a manager, she would be a great Manager Golden Corral. This isn't meant to get her in any trouble, because it's only 60% of the time. That percentage reflects the times she is attentive, not just to me. There have been times where people have for instance made a mess with food because they wanted to make their own combination and it's just an unnecessary situation or experience. When like me a person has food allergies sometimes; like me. but then again I would say sometimes the manager is very very concerned and takes her job very seriously. I not only speak for myself, but I also speak for me and parties of 10 or more; that attend different...
Read moreFood was just "okay", not as good as the one in Springfield. I will probably get negative feedback for this review, but if you want an honest review, here goes. I felt like and American who had been dropped into Mexico and was uninvited at this location. The Latinos (I'm assuming were Mexican) were the majority of the help there and were very rude and acted as if we were not welcome starting at the cashier line where we get our drinks and pay for the meal. I am white and my daughter is bi-racial (Asian-American).The girl that gave us our drinks was rude, no smile, no expression at all, no greeting whatsoever. We thanked her for what we got, and received no reply whatsoever, not even a second glance! But when a crowd of Mexicans showed up right behind us, she greeted them (in Spanish) with a smile and continued a conversation in Spanish to them like they were family. I went up to the steak bar and stood there for at least 5 minutes while three Mexican men looked at me and ignored me. Finally one came over (did not greet me, just walked over and started cutting the steaks and flipping them, and never made eye contact with me either) and while I was explaining to him that I wanted a rare piece of steak, an African American man came over and said "man, he didn't hear a word you just said, what kind of steak do you want"? I told him that I suspected that he didn’t, and he just shook his head. Our African American server (?) However was extremely nice, polite and accommodating. We were in a group of ten people. Three of the children were bi-racial as well (White/African American) as well as my daughter (mentioned above). He was very cheerful and all smiles, very nice man. We were seated back in the separate room in the back of the restaurant, (which is preferred by me actually) so no complaint there at all. Even in there though, there were two tables of Mexicans that seemed to have “issues” with us. At the one table was an older looking guy, maybe late 40s-early 50s who kept giving me hard looks. At the other table was a Mexican woman who turned around several times just to look at us with a smug look on her face. She looked to be about the same age as the other guy. Where do these people think they are? I find it very appalling and uncomforting to think that I should feel this way in an AMERICAN establishment, IN AMERICA! What the HELL is going on in this country and why is this type of behavior allowed?!!! As for the food, it was probably better than just one star, but the atmosphere definitely tainted the...
Read moreI am a regular there sometimes 3-4 times a week lately. I can pick the right foods for my health. I made a mistake by going to Iron Skillet on Thanksgiving wrong choice. Golden Corral is hands down is far far better choice. I am able to create a great salad with crumble blue cheese. Fresh Strawberries. Then the steak is so tender. If you like ice cream with your complementary coffee you will get charged for that from 1 manager name Bob. The reason why because you drink the ice cream. I was going to get charged for adding ice cream and Carmel topping to my complementary coffee which I don't think it was fair. Just warning to all don't mix your coffee and ice cream together because Bob consider that your drink. I never seen other people get charged for that and no one hasn't heard that before either. Ice cream, Carmel comes with the buffet and Complementary coffee at the end of meal so why am I the only one he wants to charge? So I try to go there when he isn't there. Other wise it is a good choice. Update on April 27,2019 Bob is actually better. There is a newer waitress who is Lisa which I was just trying to help her because the staff works so hard. Granted I was going there a lot but not live at GC. I have a home. Well Lisa was asking how to tables in place again so I said those tables go to a different directs nicley and helpful I said .Well her come back was, "YOU SHOULD KNOW YOU LIVE HERE!! She was not nice about it. I did reply ," I been coming here for 20 years off and on. I did talk to Bob about her remark. I won't sit in her section either. I will move or ask where she is so I will seat else where's. The staff never ever disrespect me like that in 20 years but I won't put up with it. I pay for my meal plus I tip. The server, cooks, kitchen, dishwasher plus managers do great job. Other server are excellent in there work. I like going there and would suggest you and family go there. I can list so many good ones JoJo was my first server December 1999 where my clients brought me here with my family then I was hooked. Staff makes the place and the food is excellent like the staff. But Lisa hope you change or maybe it was a bad day for you but I observed you with other people and you treated other customers better than you treated me. I hope the better because other customers won't tolerate the attitude you gave me. Just a heads up from a...
