This location SUCKS and the staff is terrible. I went to check out with some clearance items my kids picked out for Christmas presents. Unfortunately, one of the tags fell off a bracelet by the time we got to the front. The girl at the counter called for a price check and I told the woman who came up where I found it and that there was another bracelet exactly like it back there. She argued with me that I didn't find it in the clearance section, to which I said you'll see the other one just like it when you do the price check. Like I'm gonna lie over a few bucks on a bracelet when I bought several other higher prices items with no complaint?
Meanwhile, the girl at the counter was zero help. She actually bagged the things I hadn't paid for yet and asked me to move so she could check out another person. NBD. I moved and started to pull the things I hadn't paid for out of the bag. Right as I was doing this, the cashier calls out that I hadn't paid for some of my items yet and looked at me like I was trying to steal them. I was like yeah, I didn't pay for them yet because it was a separate transaction for my son and I didn't have the price check done. Like, girl, YOU bagged them! WTH!
So several minutes later the other lady came back with a completely different bracelet whispering that it was actually $12.99 - like I was lying about the price. I was like yeah, it's a different price because it's a different bracelet. So then I say that I'll just go back and get it myself and ask if they can keep my bags while I run real quick. The girl at the counter is like, "Um, no. We can't actually keep customer bags up front." So you treated me like a friggin thief over a five dollar price difference, but let me walk through the store with my bag?
Anyway, I go back to where I said it was, and lo and behold, there it is, the exact bracelet marked at 8 bucks, just like I said. On the way back up I see the lady who did the "price check" and showed her the bracelet marked at 8 bucks and said had she bothered to look where I told her, she would have seen it. She actually had the nerve to DOUBLE DOWN and say the original price was $12.99. I flipped the tag over and said no, according to the tag, the original price was only $9.99. Like I know brain cells are in short supply these days, but how are you gonna argue when I give you literal physical proof?
When I got back to the front I mentioned to the girl who had checked me out the first time that the bracelet was exactly where I said it was and she was just like, "Oh, well I didn't do the the price check," and turned away from me. Like I didn't say you did, I was just trying to defend myself and let her know I wasn't trying to scam them out of five bucks. And throughout all of this, no one bothered to even acknowledge the situation, let alone apologize.
Seriously Marshalls you need to do a better job hiring and training your staff. Generally speaking accusing your customers of being thieves and liers isn't a...
Read moreMost horrible shopping experience I have ever had today. I will never shop at this location again! Here it is 2023 and you still have people following and profiling black people in the store. I have been coming to this location the past two years shopping regularly and today by far was the worst shopping day I’ve ever had. Me and my daughter went to this location to purchase a new water bottle but before I grabbed the water bottle I wanted to browse the store. I found a few other things I wanted to buy but as I was shopping I noticed that I was being stared at and followed by the employees. As I was looking for my size in the women’s department the camera sounded off saying welcome to the beauty department indicating they were heavily watching me. Not one employee greeted me or asked if I needed help yet they were following me and looking at me to the point I became upset and uncomfortable. At the checkout the cashier lowered the volume of her headset to tell me that if I needed to return the bra that I would need to make sure all original tags were on the item. I have never been told that my entire time ever shopping this store. That indicated to me that the person who was watching me on camera told her to tell me that from her headset. She never asked me to apply for the card which that is usually what they always say before the transaction is completed. I am utterly disgusted by this behavior and I will not shop here again. To feel uncomfortable and unwelcome I wasn’t appreciated for spending my money I will not shop here. I never thought that I would have to tell a story about shopping while black in America. I do have a large following on my social media platforms and I will be posting about the disgusting people Marshall’s have working for them and the fact that black people isn’t welcome to shop in...
Read moreJust a little bit of advice for any of the senior staff at the 75th street location on the morning of 11/22… Volume ten vocal reprimanding of a customer who is investigating a product to purchase is extremely jarring to hear. Maybe some training for tact and voice control could be beneficial. The customer was extremely gracious with her but it was embarrassing to witness. Perhaps being raised in the earlier decades this was normal behavior but in this day and age a soft voice goes a lot further. By the way. Loud promotions over the speaker is distracting to shoppers and not welcomed. Try to stay classy. I’m sure corporate makes you but then make sure corporate gets the review....
