Marina Garden Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Kenosha

The food, for the most part, was reasonably priced. I ordered The Gyro meat and Eggs. I was told it would be an up-charge to have the eggs in an omelette which i declined, the waiter neglected to mention that adding cheese to the eggs costs $1.32.

When I asked the cashier why it was $1.32 for a single slice of cheese he shrugged and said, "You're not only paying for the cheese, you're paying for the chef, the waiter and to run the lights."

Do the waiters not get paid if i don't order cheese? Do i have to eat in the dark? Or perhaps cook it myself?

I find secretly charging $1.32 (A rather odd amount) for cheese and possibly for other negligible add-ons which would be priced perhaps $0.40 at any other restaurant a poor way to make up for high operating costs.

My family has been going to marina gardens before I was born their family has always been so good to our family! The food has always been great something’s that have never changed was their gyro, stir fry, and the cream of chicken and rice soup! I moved away but every time I come home to visit my parents would take me out for dinner it’s memories like this that make this restaurant stand out George and his family were always great and his legacy is still there. Covid changed many places, times and shut down but even through all that their doors are still open and the food is still great, I will wait on great food, great service and will wait on good people. My favorite restaurant throughout Kenosha by far! The service is amazing, with empathetic and quick servers. Prices are decent for the quality of the food. Food is heaven, literally 😂. I personally love their mashed potatoes & gravy, with french fries. They make the food quickly. Whenever I order a milkshake, it does take a bit longer but they always assure me that it will. The place in general was clean. Carpet and flooring was tiny tad dirty, but that wasnt a big deal. Cute and vintage decorations inside, with calm and warm toned lighting.
