This center has a magnificent display of historic Kenosha with many artifacts from the early days. Of great interest are exhibits on the Bain Wagon Company and Simmons Factory from the 1800s. Most importantly it has many archives and experts that can assist you with historical research. Archivist Cynthia Nelson and docent Jeff are both a wealth of information if you are doing historical research or need assistance with genealogical information. They were just wonderful to us. The location is beautiful out by the historic lighthouse. We can’t say enough great things about these folks. And only 15% of their collection is on display. My intent was to simply visit the gift shop to purchase a few mementos. I was greeted warmly by two staff, one of whom provided an in-depth tour of the museum.
