Five Guys — Restaurant in Kensington

I stopped in this five guys today around 5ish for some burgers to bring home for my boyfriend and myself and I got in just before a little rush of people. The young woman who greeted me was quick to smile and lightening fast with the buttons as she took order after order. Everyone who was working at the time was busy, no one was standing around. Somehow in the scurry my order either got misplaced or someone else grabbed it by mistake. I'm a patient person, and I've worked in food service for much of my life. Before long a lovely woman who was working there saw me sitting for a while and asked me what my order was. I handed over my receipt and she rushed back to the other workers and they all got looks of worry on their faces while they worked double time to finish up orders. She called me over to the milkshake station and explained to me that my order got mixed up and offered me profuse apologies and said I could try any milkshake I wanted. I declined the shake but thanked her and assured her I was fine and understood. This is a fine establishment with great employees, great customer service and damn good food. Absolutely horrible service, paid $54 dollars for 4 hamburgers , received 3 without a bread and most importantly the meat was not well cooked and my stomach started hurting me after I ate. Spoke with a lady manager that was very rude and it was very difficult to communicate with her, we had to repeat ourselves so many times and she absolutely refused to do anything , and hung up the phone on me because I demanded new burgers or a refund. I have eaten there before where the food was fresh and the staff was friendly, not sure if this lady is new, but whoever that was the manager on 6/15 around 7:30 pm was really rude. I threw the food away, what a waste.

So I just wanted to say Thank you to Uber Eats for having managers that value customer service, Uber Eats did an investigation, I sent them pictures and they refunded my money. Thank God I ordered through Uber Eats, I did NOT have to go back and forth with them like with the five guys Manager who hung up the phone on me. The ladies here are bilingual, super friendly and the manager is sweet and very direct so don't think she is rude cause she isn't. She is nice and very kind and can make you laugh. The staff there is veey tight knit and very effective. They are effective when addressing uber drives and keep capacity of people to the minimum so if you need to eat, order to help them out. My most recent, I did a walkin order, they have updated everything and have signs posted to be safe for the public. The team there have a solid environment so glad to see the huge difference. It's night and day and during a pandemic. Hope management notices the hardwork and effort this team is putting in to be a great example of the franchise.
