I’m a regular patron at this local shop. I usually order my large latte to go. On this occasion, I decided to dine-in, ordering two large hot drinks. Imagine my surprise when I received our order and got 10 oz in each cup. Say what, a large to go is 16 oz. I approach the barista to point out I paid for two large hot drinks, which equals 32 oz, but we only received 20 oz. I asked very politely if she could rectify by giving the me the missing 12 oz in another latte. She get the manager who proceeded to tell me she would need to charge me for another shot of espresso because they already had given me two shots in my 10 oz drink. What!?!?! You are telling me that even though you failed to be transparent and frankly, ripped me off by an entire 12 oz regular drink, that I’m going to pay for YOUR mistake?! You gotta be kidding me. Your inability to correct a mistake will now cost you over $5k yearly in income because we will never return to support your business. It was an easy fix but you chose to make the customer wrong. I’d would suggest you train your staff to share when a customer orders in-house that there is only one option which is a regular size drink. Your current pricing is deceptive and lacks transparency. Heck, if the manager had even offered up the extra cost covers the extra time to bus and wash the dishes, it would have landed better. Instead, she choose to make me wrong for questioning why I did not receive what I expected. It is truly a shame that the customer service is lacking as the food and coffee...
Read moreStaff: not friendly, they are short, don’t smile. They act like you are bothering them.
Tipping/Payment: machine doesn’t give you an option to say no to a tip. Tip percentage starts at 18% and just says you can put in a different dollar amount. So I tipped more than I intended because I had my kid with me and got flustered while the staff was staring at me while I put in the tip.
To make things worse, there’s no table service. Why tip or even tip 18%+? They give you a pager. You pickup your food at the counter then eat. When done you are expected to bus your own table.
Credit card fee: A 3% credit card fee is added to all transactions.
Food: taste good. Pancakes good but not worth the price for the small size. Morning sandwich was $12 (not worth the price) came with 1 egg and 1 piece of bacon and not even a full slice of cheese.
Food seems over priced.
Drinks: My lemonade was $6 or 6.50.
Food Value: Not worth the value. Small portions.
Verdict: not worth being treated poorly over and over again. And feel like you are getting cheated on purpose. Also if you have small kids with you it’s hard to eat here since you have to find a table, get your food at the counter and bus your table with when done. Again why tip?
I came to this location more than 5 years ago and the staff was rude. Still the same?!? Manager posts on reviews “thanks for your feedback”. But obviously doesn’t care or things people complain about would change.
Lasting questions: Who gets the tips? Does management get some of...
Read moreIgnore the rating if you only care about coffee, based on the cappuccino I had it's a 5 star place! the rating is for my opinion on food selection. Yes I know, it's a coffee place, not a food place.
I had a delicious cappuccino! They also have a good selection of plant based milks that, based on the oat milk from my drink, foam very very well. They also have almond and soy for those who desire. Definitely drop by if you want anything from a coffee bean :)
The food section for vegans is, in my opinion, near none. Maybe my expectations are off, but coffee places tend to attract the "hipster, millennial, hippy" crowd who tend to be more on the green side. Their sourdough has dairy so you couldn't veganize their menu unless you just want the insides of a sandwich (assuming they don't cook with butter).
I really appreciate that the cashier knew about the sourdough as my gut would explode if I had dairy :) (gapping this sentence as my vegan friends and I love knowledgeable staff)
I did have house potatoes which tasted solid. I just would have loved to have a sandwich with my drink. I'll definitely come back for the coffee and hope you guys add or switch to dairy-free (and egg-free) bread in the coming months. I will definitely add an update if that happens.
Again the cappuccino I had was 5 stars and I'd assume the same for their other beverages. my rating is solely for the food in hopes you guys add more...
