My daughter in law called ahead on the early afternoon of March 5th to let them know We had a party of 20 for my granddaughters birthday, for 8pm that night. My husband & I arrived at 7:30pm we waited for 10 more of the family to get there at 7:40 pm at 7:50 the rest of us had arrived. The male host pretended we didn't exist. At 8pm a short female lady hostess/manager came up to the greeting desk and asked if we'd need help? Yes please, I told the name of our party and she said they've had the table set up since 6:30 and the reservation was for 8pm. 8pm she repeated it a few times. and she pointed in the direction towards our table area. They forgot one of our people's dinner orders and had to cook it after they served everyone else, and asked if we needed anything else and We told them one order was missing. We had to remind them of several other side orders & appetizers they tried to give us someone else's alcoholic drink from a different table, they finally realized they needed to bring that drink to the correct party We understand that most places are short handed so some things will take longer. But from the very first being blatantly ignored like we didn't exist and then the other mistakes happening just compiled. Please train your host and hostesses to greet new people at the door and make eye contact. Hello smile I'll be with you in a minute. If they are busy with other patrons. If not, Hello smile how may we help you? Just that little bit of consideration would have made this review 70% better. And please turn the lights up just a tad say 5% more light would be awesome. Our combined families are big and we love to gather together we go to Apple Bees often. But as of now I will look at suggesting other restaurants to go to if this kind of out and out rudeness ever happens again. The co-workers did work at bringing orders out together so the food & beverages was served hot. I do agree that it is hard to get enough help still since the pandemic. But having your staff start out by greeting it guest properly is essential it really does set the vibe. We do tip at least 20% per person or more so even with not so great service the waiter was tipped more than expected for really good service. And the service was below mediocre. Anyway we have gone to Apple Bees for birthdays and anniversaries and everything has been really good including greetings, service, food, beverages & deserts. Please talk...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here for dinner on August 9 after my physical therapy. I have been cooped up in the house following knee replacement surgery and looked forward to an evening out. The restaurant was not busy. The server sat us in a booth facing west. We had to move to a different table when the sunlight in my husband's face became uncomfortable. Why would an employee seat a customer at that booth knowing the sunshine would soon pose a problem? We learned later that he was not new on the job so he should have known better. It was the manager, not the server, who helped us move. With a walker and a stiff knee this was unpleasant.
This was just one example of poor service. The server did not write down our order so it was no surprise when our food finally arrived and did not meet our specific requests (example: my burger had tomato against my wishes and was well done despite my request for medium). Of course, he might have forgotten our order during the millennium it took him to bring the order to the kitchen, chatting with co-workers on the way. Both entrees and appetizer were overcooked and flavorless. We had to request the bill (which, like the food, took way too long to arrive). We asked the server if we should use the machine on the table to pay; he said he would help us do so then walked away! We took the bill to the bar to pay. Our server didn't seem to realize that we were people.
Another server saw how frustrated we were as we waited at the bar for our payment transaction. She actually apologized to us and said she hoped we would not let this bad experience keep us away from Applebees. If I could be guaranteed to have her as my server I might return. Since that can't happen, we are done with this Applebees. I at least hope that the server we had will get some training in customer...
Read moreCame here last night and placed a to-go order for some pasta and fries with ranch, Ik it sounds dramatic but I asked for ranch about 3 times and was ensured that there would be ranch in the bag, instead they gave me ketchup packets ?? Then as I’m eating my pasta, ONE bite in and there was a hair in my food, and I know it wasn’t mine because my hair is green, I called and they told me their kitchen was about to close in 6 minutes and that there wasn’t a manager on the floor so there wasn’t much they could do, they took my name down (atleast that’s what they said they would do) and told me they would leave it for day shift for the next day, I came up here again to see if there was any way I could dispute the situation and not only did they forget to leave a note, I was told the only thing they would be able to do is give me a gift certificate even though the night before I was told I’d be able to either get a refund or get another order of what i already had. THEN they tried to give me a gift certificate for $10 when the pasta I paid for was $23 plus tax because of a protein sub. I know what it’s like to work in a restaurant setting so I try to be as understanding as possible when stuff like this happens but they didn’t seem to show any real concern for something that THEY are at fault for. Also, when I was in the back paying for my food I didn’t see not ONE person in the kitchen with gloves or a hairnet on, I understand no one wants to wear a hairnet 24/7 in a kitchen setting but GLOVES ??? that’s the least...
