If you like hot food, then you might like the ribs. Too spicy for my liking. Pickled vegetables for the side were pickled sweet cucumbers and onions. I was hoping for a variety, like cauliflower or something. The sauces were a "Hawg wash" very runny and meh, a sriracha sauce, for most people would be unbearably hot, and a mustard which honestly just tasted like regular table mustard. If the ribs are going to be over spiced, then a nice balance for them would be welcome. Trying to cool your palate, and everything on your plate is either fire or gasoline isn't enjoyable. The jalapeno cornbread was pretty good combo, unlike the rest of my meal The presentation of the food was nice. My husband's brisket and Yukon potatoes were fine. The brisket had an even light smokey flavor that wasn't too overpowering. The potatoes were a nice consistency and flavor. Carrots were cooked with just a little bit of crisp left and seasoned fine. Overall a mild dinner in comparison to the dish that I had. The Manhattan was heavy on the Bourbon, no other flavor dynamic. Maybe they just gave me straight Bourbon. The waitress was hardly to be seen. We went the entire meal and waited several minutes after the meal until we finally saw her again.

I’ve been to this location twice and both experiences have been good. The food tastes good and the portions are good. The menu changes throughout the seasons, so keep an eye out! It can get really busy, and they take reservations, so I suggest making one if you can. As a vegetarian I got a salad and a side and it was plenty to fill me up, too much to finish. The side dishes are very well seasoned and delicious. The last time we were there we did have an issue with the glasses. They were still covered in soap residue, so you could taste it in the water and our glasses even got foamy as the condensation started to form. The waitress tried brining us new glasses 3 times, each with the same issue, until finally brining us out wine glasses for our water. While this was unfortunate and I would warn to look out for this, she handled it very well and no harm was done. I appreciated that she kept trying!

I just happened to see the Bistro on Main as I was driving through Kent and decided to make a reservation for me and my wife. She had no idea where we were going and having never been here before I was hoping it would be a great dining experience. Neither of us were disappointed. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is just out of this world. We had the French onion soup and the stuffed peppers as an appetizer. Both were unique and delicious. I had the salmon as an entrée and my wife had the sirloin. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the sirloin tasted and was as tender as a filet mignon. Crème brûlée for dessert was a perfect finish to this meal and we ordered a pizza to take home for a late night snack by the fire. It was amazing. We can’t wait to go back.

Saturday October 6th I hosted a baby shower at Bistro On Main. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for Aaron, Krista and Tony. Aaron was so accommodating when it came to menu planning. His suggestions for the menu that was being served to a group of ladies for lunch was perfect. Not only was the food delicious it was plated and served in such a way that made it not only quick and convenient but also elegant and sophisticated.

Krista and Tony were absolutely FANTASTIC. There was not a need or want that went unaddressed. They were so kind and helpful during the set up. Krista's experience with larger groups and parties was evident from the start. She anticipated and planned ahead for everything. Krista and Tony went above and beyond in helping greet, seat and serve the party guests. During the entire event there was not an empty glass of water, a glass of wine or a cup of coffee that needed a requested refill. They were ON IT !!!! The food was served in a timely fashion. They did a superb job slicing and serving the cake. They boxed up all the ladies leftovers and had them ready for everyone at the end of the shower. They were excellent in assisting with taking down and clearing the room after the party.

From the initial baby shower planning phase through menu planning, decorating and execution of the event I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR MORE. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Bistro on Main and Aaron and his staff for anything from a casual lunch to a special dinner, a party or corporate event. They were amazing!!! THANK YOU...

The Bistro on Main is undoubtedly the best & most underrated restaurant in Kent. This place is in such a weird location, on the kind of gross part of 59 near all the car dealerships... but it's is truly an exceptional spot.

The food here is SO GOOD, period, & that makes it worth coming back to over & over & over... & over. I've been coming here since they opened nearly a decade ago, & it's still among my favorites in the area. Their menu changes with some regularity, but as I write this, I'm a big fan of their plantain nachos (so unusual!), crispy Brussels sprouts (OH MY GOD), adult mac & cheese (there's lobster in it!), sweet potato gnocchi (one of the most delicious dishes I've ever tasted)., & the adult cherry coke (mmm, whiskey). The atmosphere is quaint & perfect for a meal with your parents or with a date.

Occasionally, you can snag a good deal on Groupon, which helps bring down some of the high prices (again: the food is WORTH IT), & they have great nightly specials. On Wednesdays, they host "The Original Cheap Date Night," your choice of six pizzas or three pastas, two salads, & a pitcher of draft beer or bottle wine, plus dessert for two... all for $35. Can't beat that!

If you're staying at the hotel in Kent, the Bistro will send a shuttle to pick you up for dinner! I love that they've implemented this creative service to help make up for their less-than-ideal, off-the-main-drag location. And if you're not visiting from out of town? You have no excuse not to drive over to the Bistro on Main & eat your...

Overall the experience was good. I was disappointed in the portion size of the appetizer we received. The potato skins, listed at $12 for 6 skins, came and they were very small potatoes. About the size of a half dollar coin but maybe smaller. So for $12 not a great choice and a bad surprise. Also ordered the Walleye Taco, but it was unoriginal, just a piece of fish an onion slice and lettuce. Only came with one small taco for $8! So the beginning of the meal not so great. We actually visited this location after a radio ad stating Mondays were 1/2 pound burger and Fries special. When we arrived the menu was VERY specific though and the burger special was for just the Black and Blue burger. Which two of us got and it was very delicious. The meat was very good. I also enjoyed the French fries. Our third party member opted for the Philly cheesesteak instead and said it was ok but not worth the $20 price. So not trying to be negative, just honest opinion. The restaurant was packed by the time we left, so very happy we came early at 4:30 pm. Our server did a good job. He was a very serious person, Lol. But everything came out as ordered. This was our first visit to Bistro on Main so the reason we were not aware of portion sizes. But the burgers were very good. We will probably dine again and try...
