California Monster Sushi & Korean Food “Under New Management” — Restaurant in Kent

I used to come to this place regularly. I have given it a couple great ratings. The previous owners were awesome, place was clean, food was exceptional.

I moved, so rarely go now. I stopped in the other day as I was in the area.

There was one young guy there, the only person. He said he was temporary. It took 40 min to get my simple order of one roll.

He stopped making my roll to clean the table of the only others who had just left. One table and it had to be cleaned before my order was done?!? What?

There were plenty of clean tables. No one else was there.

I'm just a customer, so what do I know. Other than him, I was literally the only person in the shop, but he had to clean that table. Right then. Let me wait.

I asked him if I could get refund, I couldn't wait. No, no! He had already started mine.

He lost a couple customers who'd asked me how long I'd been waiting. I was honest, they walked out.

Omg. It was only after I left the place that I realized HE DIDN'T WEAR GLOVES.

So, I was already on my way to next stop, however did call, and suddenly he didn't understand English.

The roll had been stuffed into a too small container, what a mess.

I won't be back. EVER.

Visited this place today (10-28-17) and about a month prior to this. Now I would like to say that the food is top notch. Fresh and very tasty. Now to the disappointing parts: misleading advertising, atmosphere, and the staff. Outside the store they have a sign that advertises their specials. I asked to get one of the special "buy one, get one free" deals but the response was "only weekdays". Today is a Saturday and I understand, but nowhere on that banner does it say "weekdays only". My guess is that it's a way to bait people into coming in. Once you walk in the place is pretty cozy but you quickly reliaze that there's no music and all you hear while you eat is the hum of the fridge (a couple people are a common sight in this restaurant). Lastly, the one worker today was most likely the owner (an older male) wasn't really that friendly. It took about 3 minutes for him to complete the card transaction as his system was slow. This place could really blossom, it just needs improvement in those three major areas. The food is great, but everything else is lacking.

P.S. The owner if you are reading this, you might want to plug in your cameras as they were...

I ordered sushi and salmon teriyaki to my house ( $90 order!) and I've been told it will be arrive within 25-30 minutes, well I got it after an hour and 20 minutes the salmon was dip fried from some reason and it came cold and hard like a stone! The rice was cold too and 3 of the sushi rolls wasn't made like I asked. Weird! I've never thought that restaurant can deliver food like this, i wouldn't give it to my cat to eat.. Oh one more thing, I got my side salad with a dead bugs inside and I found it out only after I ate like half of the salad! Grouse and unhealthy! And that's the real joke, when I called to complain the manager said he will give me a refund for the salmon lol and when I disagreed and wanted all my money back and offered him to come to take his food back he just hanged up the phone and never answered again! Shameful! Do not order food from this place if you care about what you eat.. I added some photos of the bug in my salad and the dip fried salmon, hope it will...
