Based on service alone, Guy’s Pizza fully deserves this 1-star review. There’s a lot below that I’ve considered on behalf of the employees and store. Maybe I’m right, or maybe I’m wrong. Doesn’t change the bad customer service (as repeatedly mentioned in many reviews left over the last few years for Guy’s Pizza)
———
I’m 90% sure the majority of the positive reviews for this place are fake…
The good reviews all read like: -they’re from store employees (who were probably asked by the owner to write a review). A recent review from a google user named “Hunter” specifically mentions and praises a store employee named Hunter that gave them such wonderful service -or bot reviews paid for by the owner to recover from the consistently negative reviews
———
Maybe this message will be read by those “not-very-nice-to-talk-to” employees and they’ll understand that we need to be out there being kind to EVERYONE. NO MATTER WHAT.
Or, even better, MAYBE the store owner will see it and start paying their employees more, or change whatever causes the employees to not show any customer service.
Who know, maybe it will change the way people are treated at this pizza shop. But probably not…😕
———
Just going to say I don’t know the whole story as to why the service is so bad every time I walk into Guy’s Pizza. I just know that each time the employees made sure I felt unwelcome and like a bother to them.
——— Perhaps this shop owner is too cheap to pay a person to work the front counter and deal with customers & delivery people.
Each time I’ve been in, the person working the counter has been also the one: -pulling orders from the oven -cutting -boxing up orders -trying to stay organized with all the orders that flow in non-stop -all while the owner of this shop is the only one who makes any real money. ——— I’m very aware of the extreme tensions that the police and conservative populations surrounding Kent State have caused for Kent State students
I’m a bald (hereditary, not by choice), clean cut, white guy, who they might think is voting for Trump. So maybe that’s why they don’t want me in their shop.
I’ll make it a point here to affirm it’s fully their right to judge me by my cover and treat me as such. We all know us white men need to feel a lot more adversity.
But I’m also going to say here, in case any of the employees have a chance to read and recognize me (see my google picture, I’m not hiding as an anonymous troll):
-I’M VOTING FOR HARRIS/WALTZ!!!
-I have voted for every Democratic presidential candidate since I turned 18
-I treat every employee of the restaurants that I pick up from with kindness and respect. So I’m sorry for hoping I might receive some from you!

But MAYBE…in the end…it really is just that the owners suck, they under pay their employees, and those employees take it out on customers and delivery people.
Either way, Guy’s Pizza fully deserves this...
Read moreI've been purchasing and eating Guy's pizza in Kent for many years now. I love the food. My issue is for only being open past 11:00pm on one night and to restrict what you can order after Midnight(that only night) as well as shutting off your phone is a disgusting business model and has at this point deterred me from ever ordering Guy's Pizza outside of reason for convenience. Also the staff allow SERIOUS loitering in the tiny lobby. There are many times I'm having to navigate shoulder to shoulder with pizza on a plate through a crowd of students INSIDE and OUT. Most of the crowd tends to have already ordered and are just welcome to stand inside and eat. So unprofessional to allow this. Lastly I'm experiencing serious disappointment to find out that this is maybe the only food business opening as late as 2:00pm for easter or even just for the reason of their regular hours. I won't be spending my money here anymore. I just want lunch and good service. They've forgotten to make orders before, they've attempted to charge me incorrectly. This business is not being managed with the...
Read moreWithout a doubt this is the most poorly managed operation it has ever been my displeasure to have had dealings with. On a Friday night their website states the hours of operation are FRIDAY 11:00 AM - 3:00 AM with a delivery notification time of 59 minutes. Yet at 12:40AM they are no longer taking delivery orders. I called the store and the person answering the phone seemed eager to take my order but I needed a few minutes and had to call them back. When I called back the person answering the phone stated that they were no longer accepting delivery orders. On a Friday night? In a college town? with over 2 hours to go until closing time? And this is not the first time that I have had issues with this store. Clearly they do not want my business. I intend to grant them their wish and never do business with them again. Let me urge anyone reading this to take your business elsewhere, avoid the hassle that this...
