Smokie Town Smoke Shop and Dispensary — Local services in Kent

THIS IS NOT A LICENSED DISPENSARY This is long, but important for the community's safety. Despite SMOKIE TOWN's name and website, despite the neon sign on the front of the building, despite how they labeled themselves on Google - they are not a dispensary! It's Thanksgiving and many places are closed, so I called to check, so we start off with a man who states he is the owner's cousin, who was very rude on the phone (aligns w/other 1-star reviews). It was like pulling teeth to ask direct, simple questions. I wanted to be sure, because their online presence is so misleading. He assured me more than three times that they are a marijuana dispensary, even answering 'yes' to "do you have medical patients?". I drove 40 minutes to get there, and what do you know, it is simply a smoke shop with the fake, "legal" THC products. But I had to push to make this clear. I again, in person, gave this man a chance to be honest - as a business owner - (or whoever he is), and he STILL assured me that YES this was a marijuana vape. He even double down, informing me that a dispensary and a smoke shop are the same thing. He has this lacksidasical kind of vibe, like he couldn't give a dam less about any customer. Very unlikable, paired with being a liar. I pray they doesn't scam and really harm someone, or worse. These product knock-offs are NOT SAFE! These people need looked into big time. I'd love to see their books. Real THC is legal, why would we poison ourselves with garbage? Just a deceptive business - it was not until I became enraged that he began to stare at the ground, admitting that he IS aware they are not a real dispensary, AND that he would have fooled me into buying/injesting it anyhow! A real sleeze ball. If you have to scam for $40, you have bigger problems my friend. He tried to say he was "so busy with someone" while we were on the phone (again, he's a LIAR), but I wasn't in the mood. That is why I called, and kept him on the phone (despite his attitude) to get the clear answer before traveling. Again, you have all BEEN WARNED. This is NOT a Marijuana dispensary, does not sell dispensary-grade products, and is NOT licensed in Ohio. Per other reviews, someone has already been poisoned from their KNOCK-OFF PRODUCTS. I usually come here all the time as a quick stop for papers or a vape when i’m out at the bars or i’m at work. usually good prices and they have a rewards system. however, this morning i walked in the rain from my job to pick up a vape. their hours state they open at 10am now, which is false. all of their lights were on, open sign on as well, doors locked. brother.. i know this is an annoying review and why do i need a vape at 10am anyway which is true, but still. And honestly to add to this, never buy carts from here. i have literally been in the store where i checked my cart after purchasing and the cashier had to open and go through a whole box of carts on the shelf from three different brands and they were all leaking very badly. maybe manufacture error but i just walked out. there is also a rude lady there sometimes who isn’t helpful and never looks up from her phone. this annoys me big time. all that being said, if you need something on the fly and you’re stopping in from downtown, this place is usually reliable. or just go to lightly...

Never heard of this place until yesterday and man I'm glad I found them. I bought a thc pod and couldn't find a battery anywhere in the kent/ravenna area, I went here as a last hope and they didn't have the right battery in store so the owner called his friend in Cleveland to check for one and he had one. They got it to kent by 9am the next morning for me. I didn't catch the owners and "I believe maybe" his sons name but I can tell you they are the nicest people you could know.
