Walked in wasn't greeted by anyone but a elderly couple who were leaving. Stood ay the counter for about two minutes without anyone to ask if we needed help so we started to use the self service kiosk and once we were halfway done were we finally asked if we needed help. I ordered the fried chicken tacos large potato ollies with LIGHT SEASONING. (As I'm very sensitive to the taste of salt).
My wife ordered three tacos and a cheese quesadilla.
The food got brought to us fairly quickly around 5 to 7 minutes of sitting down which was practically the only human interaction we received other than getting asked if we only odered one drink and half yelling "Yes" (we were the only ones inside and I'm on a cane or I wouldn't have). Then, they took 2 minutes to check the receipt anyways as if saying that they didn't believe me. Otherwise, the fried chicken tacos tasted like practically nothing if it hadn't been for the 3 packs of sauce I put on them as the pieces of chicken were about two each taco the size of my thumb and my potatoe ollies (with the LIGHT SEASONING) ranged WILDLY from barely seasoned (fine) to tasting as if i just licked the seasoning straight from the canister inedible. Even the couple my wife ate she experencied this as I kept telling her "if this is LIGHT I'd hate to see HEAVY" on more than one occasion. Even the cery first one she ate as soon as she bit into it she just stopped chewing.
Her tacos she said were nothing special but edible however the highlight was the small bite of her quesadilla she offered to me to try. (Which she very much...
Read moreI'm a HUGE fan to Taco John's and will not pass one by. Seriously. I've driven across 3 lanes of traffic with no warning to get to Taco Johns.
We stopped at this Taco John's when in Paducah for a weekend. It was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all, so we were the only customers.
We stood in the lobby for a few minutes before we were greeted and it was the manager who came up because the employees we could see were busy not paying us any attention. She took our orders and we talked for a minute and told us that they're collecting to help rebuild a church (church?) that was damaged in a recent tornado by rounding up our payment. I was intrigued by one of the local specials (a chicken ranch burrito, as I recall), so that's what I ordered, but with chips and cheese. Yes, Taco John's is known for their Potato Olés (ok, tots), but I prefer chips and cheese. Largely because if I have some Potato Olés I want to have MORE Potato Olés.
The dining room was very clean and I was digging the overhead music (80s and 90s). The drink station could have used some attention.
Our food deliver was about 8 minutes, and it was hot and accurate.
I wasn't crazy about the ranch chicken burrito, to be honest. America's never-ending fascination with ranch dressing is crazy and I don't really get it, but I like it when well placed and the right quantity. This was a little too much ranch for my taste, but it was still good. I think next time I'll stick with my regular Taco Bravo.
Add this to the list of Taco John's that I've visited! My...
Read moreThe service was great and the only issue we had was that our dressing and sauce was left off of our tray so I had to go get it, but no big deal. The food, on the other hand, was pretty terrible. The taco salads were good, but the crispy chicken tacos made my son sick, three guacamole was slimy and reminded me of the stuff on the inside of a caterpillar, and I just couldn't even eat the other burrito thing that I got. They also had tater tots that were ok, and some kind of family sized Mexican pizza. Didn't try it, and I'm sure I never will, since I won't be going back there. They still get 2 stars because they tried to make it work. It was very clean and they got a 98 on their health inspection, according to the paper posted on the door. I don't think they will be in business for very much longer, mostly because the manager came and sat directly behind us and had an entire conversation about how business had been going lately, with whom I assumed was an owner or someone higher...
