I worked here for 3 years as a dishwasher. The cook at this restaurant is a sociopath who began harassing me in extremely sickening ways around Christmas of 2017, all the way through March 2018, when I was asked to leave this business after, apparently, no resolution to this could be met. His offenses, as far as they were received to me in the most chilling, pathological, covert, directly malicious and predatory ways, include two or three unspeakably disgusting incidents of feces wiped all over the toilet and walls in the bathroom, with hand prints, finger prints, etc., in addition two overwhelmingly sick instances of vomit and urine in the women's restroom, that looked intentionally staged. These incidents each occurred when there were 2-3 total guests in the restaurant. Additionally, I found "presents" waiting for me in the bathroom at the start and end of virtually every shift with him over the three months, including spit on the floor, mystery liquid on the floor to the side of the toilet, brown smears at hidden areas such as on hinges at the top of the stall door, or on bathroom walls and tile outside the stall, and more feces on the toilet at the start of my shift with fingerprints, smearing, etc. Incessant psychological manipulation occurred during shifts, aiming to signal me to the truth of his actions while taunting and rendering me incapable of retaliation. I witnessed him touch a female employee inappropriately in the dish room, where he entered the dish room and suddenly laid his hand on her shoulder uttering "hey mammi", presumably doing so as a taunting gesture. I have strong inclination to believe he stole my bank card from my bag on the break table, where odd transaction attempts began to appear in my account, including on the night my card went missing following my shift. Items were broken, spatula snapped in half, ladle bent, bathroom key bent, cutting board jammed into the sink twice in one month, pancake mix poured into the drain in the bathroom. These things all coincided with clearly sociopathic mini temper tantrums, an attitude of contempt towards me, no effort whatsoever to make amends, as the opposite intent made glaringly unmistakable to me . On one occasion, I witnessed him display a reenactment of what he had been doing in the bathroom, as I was standing at the sink in the front of the restaurant behind the main cash register, the only one to see him do this, I watched him smear a handful of ranch dressing on the cooler door, then saw him go to clean it with a paper towel. He then splattered ranch all over the silverware I had washed, the splatter reaching the ceiling. I did all I could to alert management to this outright disgusting and clearly sociopathic behavior, every step of the way, speaking with 9 managers total over the course of three months, and a management change. But I was dismissed and asked to leave. Please get this sick sociopath out of your restaurant. Denny's employees and patrons...
Read morePros: The server was friendly and sweet, and the food was good.
I wanted breakfast and lunch, and found a burger (The Slamburger) with breakfast food on it (hash browns, egg, bacon).
The Slamburger reminded me of Europe, with the egg on everything (my friend even commented on it).
The burgers were 100% beef.
The fries were good, and stayed warm during the meal.
The music was fun and something you might expect to hear at a real soda shop, if you could go back in time.
The menu had choices of breakfast food, lunch/dinner, sides, dessert, drinks, etc, but was not overwhelming.
Cons: The server didn't give us enough time to decide our orders before coming back to the table several times. There were maybe one or two other tables of customers in there, so they weren't rushed. A good server will ask once, to find out if the customers need any help, then watch for cues (ie: laying down the menu, looking around for the server, drinking from the drink, etc) then return.
The server never refilled our water, and my friend ended up getting ice from her glass, to help. My water was still fairly full, but I noticed my friend's water when she turned her glass up to get the ice.
We wanted milkshakes, but they were out of everything but strawberry. I'm recently allergic to strawberries, but had Benadryl with me, so ordered one. It was supposedly made with fresh strawberries. There were a few tiny bits of strawberry in it. I didn't have a reaction, so unsure if they were fresh, frozen, or luck was on my side. There was whipped cream on top.
I asked for avocado on my burger, but they were out.
The ketchup bottle on the table sprayed ketchup, from being almost empty.
The menu is misleading, if you don't know what Wavy Fries are. In the photo, they look like regular fries. They actually are a little bigger and cut more like two fries. They are not the circle cut kind, but better.
The Slamburger was breakfast and a burger, like I wanted, but would I order it again? No. It didn't work for me. And luckily we sat talking instead of driving home, because the food didn't stay there long. It was probably because I don't usually eat fried food, so it didn't agree with my stomach.
The seat where I sat (booth) had a very noticeable tear in it.
Conclusion: My friend and I enjoyed ourselves and had a great visit together. None of the cons really bothered us. They are listed because I give real reviews.
I'm sure I'll eat at Denny's again, but I'll probably stick to...
Read more10/6/18 - Around 2pm...I decided to go to denny's. It was not busy at all. There was a man with his son in front of me and a lady who was waiting to pay, and a few people sitting on the right side of the restaurant. They closed the left side of the restaurant since it wasnt that busy. So after the staff person helped the man and his son, and the lady who wanted to pay, but no one asked me what i wanted. I was just standing there waiting to be seated. They had 5 staff members right at the register area and no one asked me if I wanted to be seated or if I was there to pick up an order. I stood there about 6 minutes and a lady with her two children walked in. The male staff member looked around me and said 3 in your party and sat the lady and her children immediately. I 'm standing there like WTH is going on! And after about 8 minutes the a female staff member pops her head up from looking at the receipts and ask have I been helped.
At this point I'm so angry inside...Im trying to to keep my cool . I explained to her that's ok. I won't be spending my money here today. I told her why and she apologized. There was no excuse for me as a customer to be treated that way. To be overlooked as nothing is how I felt.
So I left. I called back to the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I advised her of what happened. She said that her and staff were just talking about what happened. She claimed that they were confused and thought I was waiting on a to go order. How can they be confused if they never asked me anything when I walked in? She explained this is not how they treat there customers and wanted me to come back and she would give me 25% off my meal. I told the manager I was to angry to come back to that restaurant at this time.
After today It's going to be a long, long time before I step foot back into...
