This place used to be one of the gems of eating out in Ketchikan. It has absolutely tanked in the last several years. I don't know if a mack truck with a winch could pull it back up into the light.

DINING IN: It is loud in there. And when I say loud, I mean that even if you have perfect hearing, the way it's set up allows the noise to bounce off walls, floor, and ceiling. You will be across the table and have to lean in, read lips, and talk loud to be understood. Having a 'nice, quiet dinner' would be easier with a pack of 7th grade boys in a mini van. The wait staff leaves a lot to be desired. Their attitude seems to be one of "we are doing YOU the favor by serving you." While I never expect anyone to kiss my backside, I DO expect at least a smile and 'glad you are here' vibe. The food is largely filler anymore. Cheap filler of beans and rice. While the portions are healthy, the food overall is kind of bland. The chips and salsa they start you with was almost better - if the 'salsa' was more than a marinara sauce. The menu is WAY too large. A good restaurant has a smaller menu in my opinion. Find what you do well (they used to do Italian and Mexican really well and their pizza used to be the best on the island) and stick to it. A large menu makes you do half assed work on too many things instead of doing a few dishes consistently well.

ORDERING FOR DELIVERY: Sweet mother of god this one drives me nuts. 45 mins to an hour delivery time, even if you are literally less than a mile away from them. We live on an island! I get that traffic can be tight sometimes but really? They charge a $3 delivery fee to cover gas. I'm sorry but the mark up on all the rice and bean filler is plenty enough to cover the gas on delivery. Perhaps if you cut your menu down by about 50-60%, you wouldn't lose so much money tossing out stuff that goes bad. Maybe you could make more stuff from scratch, too. The last three times (in about a 5-6 month time) I ordered for delivery, it took a minimum of 80 minutes to get to me and it was cool or outright cold (the cold one was two hours from time of order and the kid looked high). Don't bother calling to complain, you will just get even more ticked off with their paltry offer to 'make it right.' They offered me half off my next delivery. That is when they lost me. I can make better tasting food for less cost and have a better atmosphere at home or take my money elsewhere.

They USED to be amazing. They USED to care about food quality and the community and people who eat there. Now it seems all they care about is money and that is pretty sad for us who knew how awesome...

Living in Ketchikan, you get used to having limited choices as far as restaurants go. Over the years, I have enjoyed Oceanview many times - of course, it's only when I have my order delivered. I've given them 3 chances in just the past 6 months to re-earn my business and they've blown it. The last time I went in with my husband, we sat at the hostess desk for 5 minutes while the two girls behind the desk sat there texting, talking to each other, and completely ignoring us. I said, "Hi, are you guys open for dinner?" - and they both looked like I had just ruined their day. They then proceeded to argued over who was going to seat us. Absolutely unacceptable behavior in my opinion! I wanted to leave right then, as I've experienced the same type of behavior before - but my husband talked me into staying, hoping that our waitress would be better .. which she was, but unfortunately, we ended up still having to deal with the angry little red head hostess who definitely doesn't appreciate that there are about 500 other people in this town that would love to have her easy peasy job (or any job for that matter). She was just beyond rude the entire time. The food was good - once you pick what you want from the 27 page menu. Bottom line: I'm done spending my money at...

They are very short staffed as far as there was NO BAR TENDER! It was my youngest child's birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊! I received my drink order first. I ordered a Virgin strawberry daiquiri. Dion my son got his bottle of beer only because I had to remind our server. Which later he told us that he is the "DISHWASHER!" Not a server. Sigh. So my daughter who was the BIRTHDAY GIRL, she didn't receive her birthday drink that she ordered for at least way over an hour after we first sat down at our table. My son and I were trying to make her birthday special because her girlfriend flaked out on the birthday plans that they originally made. Since that plan didn't happen because of her girlfriend was extremely HARD ASLEEP. So my son Dion Johnathon Samuels and I wanted to make sure that her birthday was celebrated. The food was delicious 😋! And I was just really hoping that the owner Louis was there to help out with the bar tending of making the drinks. We also was able to enjoy some delicious sopaipillas at the end of our evening there. 😋 Hopefully next time I decide to eat dinner or lunch in Ocean View restaurant, they'll be some more...

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I normally get the fajitas, everytime I hear the sizzling of the hot plate as my server brings it over I know I am in for a treat! Plenty of meat & cheese sauteed in peppers & onions. I often get the Patron Fajitas, which is shrimp, bacon, beef & chicken. It's always excellent. If you are lucky enough the owner will stop by your table and make you feel like you are a guest at his home. Did you know they have an espresso machine? He made me a cappuccino that was as good as any I have had at any specialty coffee house. On a sunny day when the patio is open I get to eat with a view that is almost as good as the food. The service is outstanding. Attentive, polite & pleasant. This is a local, family owned jewel in Ketchikan. If you are a tourist or a local this is where you want to eat.

Who likes it, repeats it. We went twice, Mexicans, Peruvians, Argentine and Colombians. Everyone ordered something different, there is an option for everyone. Each order of food was very well presented and had good portions. The staff is very attentive and speaks Spanish and English (I don't know if they speak another language). The atmosphere is really cool, Nice decor, very organized, and the view is beautiful. Wherever you look there are particular details. You can reach the site walking from the port. The menu is quite extensive between Mexican and Italian food. The drinks are excellent, even fine liqueurs. Rate with five could be a risk but it was my experience so I will do it. Hope all of u have the same experience, And if you have any recommendations you can make them as they are very open to comments.

Let’s start here with what was excellent. Breadsticks - incredible. 10/10. Sopapillas - not on the dessert menu, but served on request. 15/10. Best sopapillas we’ve ever had. Service was very good, our water cups were always full except at the very end, food came quickly. Meals: my husband and I both had street tacos a la carte which were very good, but not incredible (whereas the breadsticks and sopapillas were genuinely incredible). It was delicious and we will definitely go again on our next trip to Ketchikan.
