Hovercraft Eco Adventure & Wildlife Viewing — Attraction in Ketchikan

The entire experience was incredible for my family and me. The hovercraft itself is an impressive machine, moving smoothly over water and onto land. The driver and guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We saw amazing views of the strait near Ketchikan, and landed on Black Sands Beach, where we saw some of the most diverse plant life (bulb kelp, popper kelp) and wildlife (bald eagles, falcons, starfish, moon snails) we’ve ever seen. When you are in Ketchikan, definitely do this tour. The hovercraft technology is interesting and you can see out the windows. More importantly, the captain and the tour guide (Connor) did a great job to show us bald eagles and other wild life, including an upended root tree system that was blown on its 'side' by frequent 100 mph winds. You are able to sit in the front passenger seat if you like - rotating out for other passengers to do this as well. Exciting way to see wildlife in Ketchikan! The hovercraft is fast, doesn’t disturb underwater life, and makes surprisingly little sound. Intimate group of 10 guests with a pilot and narrator/naturalist. Free snacks on board are a nice touch. We saw lots of eagles and stopped at a black sand beach. The tour lasts a quick 90 minutes, so there is plenty of time to do see Ketchikan afterward. My only suggestion would be to go by Saxman native village on the tour. Highest...
