Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Kettering

You have a better chance of getting ice cream from McDonald’s with their broken ice cream machines than getting what you want here. They’re either out of chocolate ice cream or the toppings that you will want. They haven't had chocolate ice cream in probably 6 months. Every time I go in, they are also out of peanut butter cup. Additionally, they’re supposed to flip the blizzard upside down (the signature dairy queen thing) and they don’t do that anymore. The one time I’ve gotten them to do it, no joke, the whole thing fell out onto the counter and they had to get me a new one. Technically if that happens, you’re supposed to get your blizzard for free. Guess I know why they don’t flip blizzards anymore. I used to know the owner and I don’t know if it’s the same or not, but the staff they are bringing in now is absolute trash. They act like it’s your problem that they’re out of ingredients and then get an attitude when any minor inconvenience happens. I don’t know what happened to good customer service anymore but this location is the epitome of young teen workers who don’t know a lick of customer service or good social cues. I went to pick up an ice cream cake this morning. I checked online to see the time they opened and it said they opened at 9am and I arrived about 9:30. The lights were on and I could see about 4-5 people were leaning up against the counter as I walked up in the rain with my 2 small children. As they saw me approaching one of them walked over to the door and I thought they were unlocking it, but instead they locked it. Right in my face, did not make eye contact and walked away. I tried opening the door and it was obviously locked. All the people inside just pretended they didn’t see me. I tried calling the store and I could hear the phone ringing but no one answered. I tried calling again a few minutes later and someone finally picked up. I asked what time they opened and they said 10am. I told the person that it says 9am online and they should probably correct that and all she said was “ we can’t change it”. I just wish instead of locking the door in my face they would have just opened the door and said I’m sorry we don’t open until 10 that would have been fine. Worst Dairy Queen in the area your better off going to UDF or driving to another DQ! My son had coupon from his teacher for a free cone. Me and my husband also got a cone each so a total of 3. She hands us 2 and were like we ordered 3. She said you only paid for 2, I said I gave you a coupon for one free. She rolled her eyes and said I don't know what to do. We ask for the manager she said my manager doesn't know what to do eithere. My husband said I'll just pay for the 3rd cone and we can go.
