My husband and I stopped in here on our way back out to the Ft. Lauderdale airport bright and early on a Sunday AM (Easter Sunday last week actually) at 6am and were the first and only people inside.
Our friendly waitress welcomed us immediately and treated us like family. She was so friendly and sweet. Her affable demeanor that early in the AM was such a treat.
We started with fresh, hot coffee and ordered a skillet which came with a ton of toast of your choice (hubs chose his fave, Rye) and I chose the Tropical Pancakes which is three huge fluffy pancakes topped with toasted coconut, banana and pecans. SO good.
Our food was out really quickly (we were the only ones inside) and it was delicious and fresh. We scarfed it down and loved every single bite.
Before we had even gotten out of the parking lot my husband said he wished this place was in our hometown bc he would go every single weekend. It was a local's gem with a huge menu full of delicious breakfast and lunch items and friendly people.
OK. Now for the fun part - I happened to walk out and leave my small purse in the bathroom. With EVERYTHING in it. Chapstick, cash, hair ties, my air pods, and ALL my credit cards and ID. Fortunately I had my passport from travel so I could fly, but I mean I left it and didn't even so much as realize it until we got to the airport almost 1.5 hrs away.
I called and they reassured me they had it and were holding it - I asked if they could ship it back to me as I was flying home and they said they'd get me in touch with the manager. Two days later I talked to the lovely Gina who shipped it back to me via UPS and texted me the tracking.
That is integrity folks. Lucky I left it at a small diner in FL with honest people who were as kind as could be to me.
I can't recommend this spot enough - it would've already been a high 5 stars without my mess-up based upon the service and food - but you can't beat a place that is this honest. ...

From the minute we sat down, the staff treated us like family, ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of. The menu is a delightful mix of classic diner favorites and some unique local twists that shouldn’t be missed. I had the omellete whichg was nice, while my partner raved about the pancakes.
The prices at Doc's Diner are very reasonable, especially given the generous portions. Plus, the coffee never stopped coming, which was perfect for us early risers looking to fuel up for a day of adventures.
In summary, Doc's Diner is a must-visit for anyone in Key Largo. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that reminds you of the simple pleasure of a good breakfast in a friendly place. We can't wait to return on...
Read moreThe breakfast food was really good. The prices were cheap for the amount of food you got. The menu is actually expansive for a breakfast menu, so if you are a pick eater you are sure to find something you would like. Our food came out not ten minutes after ordering (although we did go at about 7 am). I also got a hot chocolate, which was about average. My fiancé ordered the coffee (average) and Flagler's Train Wreck, which he said he would 10/10 order again. One thing that irked me is that for our waitress we had to repeat ourselves a little bit, and she gave me an unsweet tea instead of a sweet tea (which if you are from the south like me that's just a no, unsweet tea is so nasty). And she didn't put ham on my GBS like I had asked. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars. Also if you are obviously a tourist expect to get side eyes from 1 or 2 of the locals there. *if you really like their coffee mugs and want a souvenir you can buy one...
